No sidewalk on my property, but thanks for the tip Pammy!
Same here but I do have a front and back porch and the pressure washer works great but OMG!! It's so bright for a few weeks after washing. You need sunglasses just to get close to the house.
If your concrete is in good shape and you use a pressure washer, this will keep you from having stripes. Use the widest nozzle available, use wand like a paint brush overlapping strokes, do not reach out wash close to your feet, wash in both directions. No need to buy a megapower pressure washer. A smaller unit will do the same job, it will just take longer. Don't be fooled by the pressure game also look at gallons per min. Think of it like a hammer. The pressure is how hard you swing it the,: GPM is how big the head of the hammer is.
....[*]For stubborn stains, mix a solution of one part bleach to three parts water and use a hard bristled brush to scour the area. Allow the solution to stand for twenty minutes, then rinse. Once your sidewalk is clean and dry, you may choose to apply a sealer to guard against further stains.[/list]Source: Cleaning Your Sidewalk (Tips.Net)
Hmm.. Bleach? When do we use Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener?
