Good tips, Pam. Had never heard the "penny test" before.

Check the tires, the oil, and filler up

Don't forget the camera and the snacks
Don't forget the air, oil, and gas filters!!! Most people do.

Our truck monitors tire pressure and warns us if one is not correct. So I don't have to kick the tires, which I question. Why should I abuse those items I am relying on to get me somewhere safely?

From the article: 4. Ditch the junk in your trunk.

Ummmmm, okay.

Great tip Pam, but if I had to kick the tires I would probably break my toes. My car tells me if I need air and what tire it is. With that said it doesn't put air in them, I still have to do that myself

I check the tyres every week.

If going on a road trip with a fully laden car I'll pump them up for the heavier load. If it's at normal load I'll deflate them to that correct pressure.

Thanks for the tip PJ.

I wonder, does it work for leather interior too? Squeaky car door hinges?

Sorry Pam, i'll go to my room right after I pass on your great tire tips to the DH! He has a talent for getting flat tires.

My DH bought another present for me. An air compressor/emergency light/jump starter that plugs into the lighter. It's a good thing to have!

What he forgot to buy was a self inflating mechanic to fix the truck FOR me. Oh well, there's always my birthday!
