You are correct..........just off "the coast" of the east end of the UP & LP. The Boy Scouts have an annual honor guard that my son was the bugler years ago. Lots of history, and no motor vehicles! There are several B&B's that are great for a weekend get-a-way.Greetings from Mackinac Island (http://www.mackinacisland.org/accommodations.html - broken link)

Coming from FL you might find summer a little chilly, not that we don't have hot weather, just not much. There is plenty to do or see at any time of year.Michigan Upper Peninsula Lodging Information & Real Estate Resource Directory not the link I was looking for but has some pics.....

I am, as some of you know, an aviation enthusiast, but on the flight home today, both the captain and the first officer passed out, so I flew the Airbus A319 and landed it in Phoenix!

I'm just kidding, I talked to the captain after the flight, kinda like computer geeks when they talk , and he took my picture in the second officer's seat.

Here's the Airbus A319's instrument panel. That's the good thing about Airbuses, their models have common instrument panels, so if you get certified for an A319, you'll also get rated for the A318, the A320, and the A321. Also they use what's called "Fly By Wire" technology, notice there's no control yoke (control wheel).
