While driving, have you ever had a close encounter with a deer in the road?

Good morning to all! Thanks for QOTD, Pam! It looks like a good one. Now to the answers...

TODAY'S QUESTION
While driving, have you ever had a close encounter with a deer in the road?
Oh yeah, one time towing my 32' travel trailer late at night, we had a few small deer zip across road in right front of us. It was a small two lane country road with no shoulders. I whoa'd everything as fast as I could but I still nipped one near his hind quarter.
He bounced off to the side of the road and got up. I swear he gave me 'the look', like I did something wrong, and then he darted over the fence and into the woods.

BONUS QUESTION
About how many miles was the longest road trip you've ever taken?
Probably 1500 - 2000 miles round trip.

Where did that longest road trip take you?
We take road trips to various places, especially when we had the camper.

Do you know which U.S. state is called the "Ocean State"? (Just answer yes or no.)
Yes, I do!

EXTRA CREDIT QUESTION
Do you have a barbecue grill?

Is your grill gas or charcoal/wood burning?
Gas

Which do you prefer ~ gas or charcoal/wood for grilling?
Gas

I know this won't apply to everyone, but do you use your grill during winter, when the temperature outside is below freezing?
One time living in NJ, DW and I sold our house (w/o a contingency like dummies) and then the deal fell through on the one we wanted to build.
So we took a condo rental for 6 months while we found another place to buy. DW refused to cook in the oven of that place, so I grilled everynight from Nov-Mar.
