There was a guy a while back running for some political office, signs all over Toledo: Vote For Peter Handwork. I just thought that was a rather unfortunate name.

Two sisters I knew as a child - they lived down the street. Their last name was Kunter, spelled with a K at least, but still bad. Bet they couldn't wait to get married.

Years ago my bosses last name was Hyman.
When his wife became pregnant I asked what they were going to name the baby & he told me if it's a girl we'll call her Anita. Anita Hyman.
Needless to say his wife didn't think it funny.

I was standing in line at Office Max not long ago and there was a guy in front of me, he handed the cashier his bank card to pay for his stuff, and a brief conversation started over the name. His last name was 'Crickettkiller'. For real! He told her he had his last name legally changed. Ive seen this guy around town here from time to time.
Ive done the name change thing once before and its really not as expensive as some may think, but it is time consuming. Ive picked up some forms to change my last name but havent decided what name to use yet. My grandmothers maiden, which is French-Canadian, or my mothers maiden, which is Japanese, but ya never know, dont put it past me to do something really 'different'....like a combination of both?

Some of my co-workers used to have a nickname for one particular customer who used to come into the coffee shop on a regular basis. He was always grumpy, nothing was EVER right, but he would still order the same thing every flipping time. They called him 'Richard Cranium'.
("Hey, ol' Richard Cranium' just walked in, who wants to go wait on him?")
And no, he hardly tipped the servers either. Usually 50c, no matter who waited on him.
