I am Native American and our names, including mine, always draw amusement and/or amazement. I am not even going to try and name all the one's that are different from smith/jones. Head, Meat, Bacon Rind are just a few. Not to mention the ones with animals or sentences.

And of course, I know some pale faces with funny names too. Iona Couch. Yes that was her real name. How about Deatherage, Duffus.

was standing in line at Office Max not long ago and there was a guy in front of me, he handed the cashier his bank card to pay for his stuff, and a brief conversation started over the name. His last name was 'Crickettkiller'. For real! He told her he had his last name legally changed
.

We had a local tax accessor (you may have seen him on (American justice) while running for office who legally changed his middle name to "low tax"

When I married the first time, my husbands name was Richard Creamer, unfortunately everyone called him Dick Creamer. It was more then I could stand, I hyphenated my last name with Creamer so it didn't sound so bad.

I called him Dick from time to time but in a different way.

In my homecleaning business several years ago one of my customers was a single Chinese guy, his name was Ho Li Kao. Seriously! I also used to date a guy named Randy Cashe (pronounced 'cash' though). He met my cousin Penny, they married, and now her name is Penny Cashe. She still gets a lot of flack about her name too, lol.

I worked with a guy back in the 60's that was an accountant. His name, Cash Dollar. And that's no lie.

I know a woman whose maiden name was skank. She was glad to get married and not be a skank anymore.
