It's not "rediculous"
I don't know if it's just one user or if a bunch of you have hitched a ride on the Misspellers Express...but it's exclusive to the CD forums.
It's RIDICULOUS, not rediculous.
Please stop it. Thank you.

If I were to tear apart the threads of everyone on this forum who did not quite have a firm grasp of the English language, I would be quite exhausted, to say the least! LOL! Let us not also forget that we have a large pool of friends on here from abroad as well (including Yac); I would not hold foreigners to the same grammatical standards as those of us who were blessed enough to learn English as our primary language. Part of what makes City-Data beautiful is its wide diversity of people who hail from all sorts of backgrounds, including those who were perhaps not exactly "academic standouts," so to speak.
Some people have spelling as their weak point. While I am strong grammatically, I barely eeked out a "C" in Calculus AP in high school while others I know who could barely form a coherent sentence earned "A"s. Instead of nitpicking on such petty little issues, let us turn our attention towards the more pressing issues at hand, such as global warming, the war in Iraq that will never end, the inability for the nation to extol civil rights unto a large percentage of its populace, our rising urban crime rates, etc.
I used to cringe and roll my eyes as well when I saw people confusing "they're", "their", and "there" or "to", "two", and "too," but I've since learned to accept the fact that one's opinion should not be invalidated due to typographical errors or not possessing a formal education.

Hahaha
I am French and I noticed a lot of grammar errors on here.
Like rediculous (I noticed that one LOL)... all the 'there, their.... ' 'then-than' .... etc... etc...

SWB, haven't you heard?! The cause of global warming, the war in Iraq that will never end, the inability for the nation to extol civil rights unto a large percentage of its populace, and our rising urban crime rates is due to people who cannot spell. It's a fact!

Well. I think our most pressing issue right now is Jenna Bush's engagement!

Let me guess - she's hooking up with a descendant of future President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. The idiocracy continues...

So is there really an issue with typos???? As long as it's not TOO mangled.
And it does HELP to have a spell checker built into your browser like I do with Firefox. Liz

English ,,,,,,, isn’t the best subject for many people including me, however it’s like the “new” math that they tried teaching years ago,,,, you give them money and no one can make change.
Now cash registers compute the amount of money to return on a cash transaction and the pc with helps with writing and spelling.
Our machines get smarter and our people get dumber. What’s the world coming to?
I always have dislike how people (younger ones) verbalize in conversations. They can’t even speak correctly.
