Today's Question(s):
Do any of our QOTD family have immediate family who have or are serving in the Military?
My dad was a WWII vet (42nd Infantry Division, serving in Europe), our nephew is currently serving in the Army, and our daughter's significant other is a Marine vet who was active in the first Gulf War, Somalia and a few other hot spots in the 90s.
Bonus Question:
Are any of our QOTD family off today?
No, not here.
Are schools in your town open or closed?
They're open in our city.
Will there be a Veterans Day parade in your town?
I believe there are some unofficial events, but sadly, there aren't any formal events planned.
Extra Credit Question:
Do you or have you ever owned a vehicle with a luggage rack on the roof?
We bought a car from my spouse's parents back in the mid 80s that had a luggage rack.
Have you ever used the above mentioned luggage rack?
Yes, it was quite helpful when we went camping; the car itself wasn't all that big, and camping with two kids means hauling along a lot of impedimentia. We could load a fair amount of it on the luggage rack and not have to cram everything in the car itself.

lol Wanted:
1. World peace 2. An end to hunger 3. A money tree
Do any of our QOTD family have immediate family who have or are serving in the Military ?
No. I don't even know anyone who has someone serving in the Military. It is amazing that we have been fighting 3 wars.....and the sacrifices are being carried by such a small proportion of our population.
I had an uncle who served in the European theatre in WWII and another who fought in the Pacific. We were also represented in the Revolutionary War and the skirmish with Santa Anna in Texas......and my Great Uncle Henry was killed in the Civil War.....fighting the successionists to preserve the Union.
Bonus Question:
Are any of our QOTD family off today ?
I am retired. Are schools in your town open or closed ? I dont know....will watch for the school bus. Will there be a Veterans Day parade in your town ? I dont know that either.
Extra Credit Question:
Do you or have you ever owned a vehicle with a luggage rack on the roof ? Yes, my subaru had a luggage rack on the roof.
Have you ever used the above mentioned luggage rack ? To carry my kayak.....now in the old days my Dad's Nash had a luggage rack and we loaded it up and covered it with a flapping tarp for Family Vacation.

Are schools in your town open or closed ?
Have not a clue. It has been over 30 years since I have care one way or another if schools were open.
Will there be a Veterans Day parade in your town ?
I am not aware of any parades. the roads are on the rather slick side with all the snow we got this week. There are several other Veterans Day activities going on.
Speaking of parades, one small town I lived in the parades all looked the same. 3 Firetrucks and the only convertable sedan in town. One year during a parade the firetrucks had to respode to a fire. The parade went by at high speed.

Do you or have you ever owned a vehicle with a luggage rack on the roof ?

Just to lug around rooftop snow.
