Question Didja Know . . . . . . . . ? Wednesday, 04 January 2012

Good morning y'all
. . . . . Didja Know?
The first American-made condoms were made from vulcanized rubber and were meant to be re-used

And who invented vulcanized rubber? That would be Charles Goodyear.

Here's an interesting fact.

The first property I bought, built around 1693 but dated 1739 due to a 'new' extension, was at one point inhabited by one Thomas Hancock. He took out a patent for the vulcanisation of rubber just before Goodyear;

His brother who also lived in the same house was also a notable inventor;

I've seen a full size running replica of his road steam engine- it was enormous!
