Default Today's Question Sunday 15 January 2011

Good Sunday morning, all, and welcome to another edition of the Question of the Day. Its a brisk day here in South-Central Wisconsin; someone finally pointed out to Mother Nature that its January, and she responded with a blast of wintry weather this week that put a decisive end to our mild winter. I was really kind of enjoying the ability to walk to the bus stop without my snow boots, but those days are clearly done for a while. Ah, well, at least the snow came after we got all the holiday decorations taken down and packed away.

I had begun to suspect she was vacationing in Hawaii.

Today’s Questions:
What was the last museum you visited?
The Metal Museum - http://www.metalmuseum.org/

Here's a picture of some molds and a knife on a counter in the blacksmith forge. The rod leaning at an angle fits into the mold of rounded shapes beneath it.

The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.

Bonus Question:
How many light fixtures are there in the room you are currently in?

Are those light fixtures:
Table lamps 2

Extra Credit Question:

Tomato

Just for Fun:

Build on an extra wing? Nah, seriously, trim some trees?

1919 – The Boston Molasses Disaster: a tank containing more than 2 million gallons of molasses ruptures, and a 15-foot wave of molasses roars through the streets of Boston, Massachusetts, killing 21 people and injuring 150 others
That sounds like a bad movie plot!

Have a sweet day....anyway!

Today’s Questions:

What was the last museum you visited?
Probably the Art Institute of Chicago, during last trip there in 2010.

Do you have a favorite museum?
The Churchill War Rooms in London - an underground labyrinth of rooms where Winston Churchill ran his wartime government. When the war was over, everything was left exactly as it was and the place was locked up until it was re-opened to the public in 1984. It is totally fascinating.

Bonus Question:

How many light fixtures are there in the room you are currently in?
Ten (not used all at once though)! The computer is in my open-plan kitchen, dining and living area.
Are those light fixtures:

Table lamps?
Four of these
Wall-mounted lamps?
Two of these
Ceiling lights?
One
Track lighting?
Two sets
Recessed lights?
Fluorescent ceiling panels?
Night lights?

Range-hood light

Extra Credit Question:

What is your favorite soft drink?
Hmmm - other than water, the only soft drink I use is the splash of ginger ale I have in my nightly scotch whisky! Going without soft drink is a lot easier than going without chocolate, so I'm happy to live without it so I can keep eating choc.

What is your favorite fruit juice?
Tomato.

Just for Fun:

Horace the Helpful Handyman is stopping by for an afternoon! What project around your home would you like Horace to tackle for you?
Oh, I have a list-full! I guess Horace can do the step-ladder jobs which I now find a bit tricky... so could he please clean out my gutters and pressure wash under the eaves? Thanks Horace!

... and thanks for the questions MWBW!

Have a relaxing Sunday everyone (or a busy one if you'd prefer)!
