Sounds productive (and healthy: the gym part).

You'll think me un-American for saying this, but I was facing a job loss and bankruptcy in 1982 when those obscenely overpaid NFL players went on strike for more money. I haven't watched a pro game since and don't intend to.

I recorded the game because it was on live at 11pm last night here in England. I had never
seen more than five minutes of an American football game before. I could'nt believe how
long the game lasted. There was constant stoppages, breaks for adverts, then a half hour
break in the middle of the game for Madonna to strut her stuff. It was full of razzle dazzle,
but it just did'nt grab me, or really hold my interest. Does'nt help I don't understand the
rules very well!! I found myself thinking things like, on slow motion replays "oh look how the
ball spins when thrown". I think baseball is more interesting to watch, but many Americans
love football, so what do I know?

Actually you know quite alot and I enjoyed your review. Football and sports in general have become nothing more than money and more money. Money for players, The TV networks and the adverstisers. Those facts have taken away the joy of the games for many people. Be it Football or Baseball. It may seem every single American is in love with the games, and must drop everything in life to watch them. Truth is many care and some don't care about football or the Superbowl. Many in the USA could never afford to see the Superbowl or any other games. The cost of tickets and the food at these games is beyond their means.

There are many times I have wished the US, would spend as much time on its many problems as it does on football. Enjoying sports is one thing and is a good thing for anyone. Its just its gotten out of hand here and as I stated. The enjoyoment of sports has been overtaken by money and the razzle dazzle you speak of.
