One thing I never really gave much thought to, is answering some surveys or questions online. Though I enjoy doing so, and it may not apply to 'all' surveys or questionaires, but heres a good point.
Example. There may be some survey, quiz, whatever, where a person is asking 'who was your best friend in high school' or 'what was the colour of your first car' etc etc. Think about it: some of these questions that some ask you for in case you ever forget your password for something such as your credit report, or your email, or maybe even your bank accounts, they will ask you that 'secret question' before giving you that new password.
Ive answered countless surveys online where they have asked who was my best friend in school or whats my mothers maiden name, where did I grow up, whatever. Most questions, people already know the answer to so either Ive had to make up bogus names or misspell something deliberately, to toss a loop in there. Good thing! Because awhile back when I had an old myspace account, sure enough, I couldnt log in a few times because it came back saying I would have to wait for a period of time before trying again, (heck what do you mean, 'again' I hadnt even been on there for two days?!) it said someone had tried repeatedly to sign onto my account. And I have NEVER given an entirely accurate answer to anyone who has no need to know any of my personal information.
I just had to get this out, though it may be just yapping on about nothing, but just to stay ahead a little because though we all know its wrong, theres always some nosey jerk out there who will try to get into someone elses accounts for whatever reasons, and as long as you are the only one who knows what answer you gave or how you spelled something, it should be good. I just recovered from a case of theft identity that took 2 years to clean up and DONT want to go through it again!
A real hacker will eventually figure it out anyway, but as long as you change your passwords frequently and use a combination of numbers, letters and symbols, it might take a little more time for someone to figure it out. If they can figure it out, they must have too much time on their hands. and then you can pretty much narrow down who the culprit is....if they have that much time its bound to be someone who spends a lot of time at a desk, on the net.

That myspace is just bad news to begin with. I know 4 or 5 people now that have had pretty bad experiences with it and from it.

I heard myspace was started to catch pedophiles and such and that it's kind of a gag joke that people are using it now for networking.. lol. I made a myspace page only after everyone I knew was slamming me for not having one ~ it was one of those things I refused to do on my own, without good reason.
