I've been out of HS almost exactly 10 years and it's weird. A lot of the people who came from middle class families did well, god knows what happened to the ghetto and illegal immigrant kids. The women, who were some of the worst looking women you'll find in a high school, have somehow got worse looking. I didn't go to my HS reunion but I saw a lot of pictures and out of maybe 60 women there, not one looked presentable. Bunch of fat hogs knocking out kids left and right before they're even 22. I think the few pretty girls I went to HS with who still look good have long left the DC area. I kind of wish I went, I'd have felt like Johnny Depp compared to those losers lol
at least one died, and another one dated Lady Gaga.
There's a couple of these (deceased classmates) on this thread. What's with these early deaths? I'm almost afraid to ask. It seems that were are indestructible, especially for some 20 years after HS.

This particular kid died in a car accident. We actually had more students die when I was in school...car accidents, suicides, asthma attacks and a couple hit by drunk drivers.
One of the pretty girls in my senior class was a wholesome, moral church attending person. Before graduation and for a few months after we spent much time together. Then I didn't see her until years later. She was promiscuous and enjoying life. I'm glad I helped.
I attended a suburban high school just north of Detroit in a middle class suburb with a mix of white collar and blue collar families. My class had maybe 230 kids back in 99 and wasn't a mixed back racially or ethnically. I remember all the jocks and "popular" kids bragging and boasting anbout how they were off the Michigan State or Western Mich. and all that jazz. I later found out that most of those folks washed out after a semester or two.
One thing I did notice is that the homecoming girls and popular grls who once ruled over my school (and were considered hot) have all either stayed the same with their looks or gotten ugly. Many "nerdy" girls simply got amazingly hot...I can name at least 15 girls I graduated with who were total dorks and they are now solid 9s and 10s.

OK I'll bite. I am 15 years out of high school. I am facebook friends with lots of people from high school, but frankly I have only talked to maybe half a dozen people outside of our reunion since I graduated -- other than cursory facebook comments, happy b-day, congrats on your new baby....
My family moved across country right after I graduated so I have limited ties to the area. I had plenty of friends in high school and it was a good experience, but I grew, changed, and moved on so we didn't remain close.
I went to a good sized high school in the south (around 1600 people). Lower to middle class part of the state. The school was very highly ranked in the state as well, but the demographics were average. Ethnic makeup was about 75% white, 22% black and 3% other.
Around 65% of people went on to college, or post secondary education (community college or trade school).
The people who left town, left and never really looked back.
The most of the 10% of the class is really successful in one way or another, and most of them moved away because there aren't many professional jobs available in that metro area.
A lot of people work at Walmart or in service jobs since those are the only options in the town I went to high school in.
There are quite a few teachers (one of the few good jobs).
About 1/3 of the people who got married and had kids right away are working on going back to school now.
Quite a few people came out of the closet, and one turned into a gay pornstar (last I heard).
The friendly lady killer jock that every girl had a crush on continued on the path to success is a doctor and went to John Hopkins.
The people that went to Ivy League schools (or similar) are in well paying careers.
The nerds are in well paying careers.
Most of the jocks and cheerleaders still live in the same town.
The high school sweethearts I knew got married and are still married with kids.
The people who still live in town, all hang out with their high school friends.
Some people had bitter divorces.
One guy is running for congress and is president of the local tea party. This cracks me up the most as he also tried to start a republican club in high school and wanted to recruit liberal people like me for his club to encourage discussion.
And based on comments from my reunion, I am apparently doing exactly what they expected. I had a hilarious experience at my reunion where a redneck (that I didn't remember) apologized for being bratty in high school and complimented me on my success. But I don't remember talking to them, so I take it they talked trash amongst themselves. My closest friend from high school and I marveled and laughed about it later (it turns out she has settled in my metro area in recent years).
Actually, a good number got into UM and all have made it...but they had to flee the state in order to do so.
