It's a lovely sunny morning here in Jezerville. Mrs J and I have been enjoying a hot drink in the kitchen reflecting on the last few weeks and months.
I think I mentioned recently that there has been a big national update of the digital TV network system over here. Analogue channels are no longer available and TVs needed to have been retuned for the new update.
Here I would say that the picture quality is better, but different TVs in different rooms using various receivers are not getting certain channels that they should.
So that brings me to the POTD. How many times have you been told that a certain upgrade will improve things, only to find out that in some ways it is worse?
What's really bad is when we're forced to upgrade when what we have works perfectly well. Like so many other things nowadays the choice is being made for us. That's what really ticks me off.
Yes, that's a good one. We did the upgrade here about 3 or 4 years ago and everyone was scrambling trying to get a converter box for "old" tv's which in my case wasn't even that old. I managed to buy a new tv before I needed the converter box but it sure was a big hassle for nothing. Good luck!
Absolutely everyone here is spot on. Dubious upgrades made of downgraded material, lousy customer service, and usually all of it offshore. The consumer is the loser.
