Which of the following window coverings do you have in your home?
Sheers/net curtains
Curtains/drapes
Venetian blinds <~~~ cheapo blinds throughout
Plantation shutters
Roller blinds
Roman blinds
Vertical blinds <~~~ these in kitchen
None at all
Other <~~~ black industrial garbage bags taped over the entire windows
in our living room on the north side only.
The windows are jalousie windows and they allow for heat and cold to blow inside and we have very little a/c and no heat. The garbage bags that cover the windows are not visible from inside OR outside, so it's a good help in summer and winter.

~ I've written several. My favorite is, "Honey - Would You Mind Bringing the Chickens In?" (It's kind of an anti-cowboy stereotype thing.)
"I'm sick and tired of Jimmy Dean sausages, (dubious look )
Look like an a$$hole in this hat, (remove hat and fling it aside)
and what in the hell's a rhinestone anyway? (spit out wad of chewbaccy)
and what's this here brown stuff I just spat?
Honey - Would you mind bringing the chickens in?
It's supposed to be a cold one out tonight,
and while you're at it bring in the dog and the hog and of course bring in the horse in case he might wanna take us for a midnight ride.
Cause I can be a dog
Stink like a hog
Sleep like a log
but I know you'll always be there right by my side."
That there's part of it - verses get rearranged and stuff, but it all works pretty good. The horse & midnight ride would be taken inside the house.
Everybody have a real nice day - it's off to hard labor for this ol' rooster.

Extra Credit Question: Roughly how many books do you have in your home? I've neer counted. A few hundred, I guess. Is there a predominant genre (history, thriller, romance, travel… whatever)? Not really. It's an eclectic collection. No romance novels, though.
Bonus Question:
In honour of the first successful blood transfusion on this day in 1914… (a) have you ever been a blood donor? Yes! I'm a regular donor and gave another unit just last week. Since I turned 18 and became eligible to donate, I've given 134 units to the American Red Cross and 3 units directly to hospitals (back in the 70s). That's almost 17 gallons! If you're eligible to donate but haven't because you're afraid, please consider giving it a shot (< < ha ha - not the best choice of words!). It's not painful, and I always feel great afterward. Plus, you get a free beverage and cookies or a sandwich afterward. *hee hee* Best bonus of all is you may save a life with your donation.
(b) have you ever needed a blood transfusion? Thank God, no, but a couple of my relatives have.
Just for Fun: How many pairs of shoes with laces do you own? Four - One good pair of tennies and two well-worn pairs of tennies which I wear when doing yard work. I also have a regular pair of brown shoes with laces.
