Good morning peevers.

Someone tell me I'm wrong- it cannot be the last day of March already!

Mrs J is off to town to pick up all the goodies for a celebratory brunch here tomorrow. Many of the workmen who have remodelled our house are friends of mine anyhow and they and their other halves will be here to christen the new kitchen.

However I won't be heading off with Mrs J as we are awaiting a delivery, and even though I ordered it and I am looking forward to it arriving, I'm stuck here.

So, let's make that the POTD;

Having to wait in for a delivery or serviceman.

Good peeve Jezer. Waiting seems to be the norm anymore. Rarely does anyone show up even remotely near the time they say they would. And no one calls to say they'll be late so you're left hanging for sometimes hours.

Yes, waiting does seem the norm, that's why we were pleasantly surprised back on Christmas eve when we had FIOS installed and the tech called and came on time. He showed up at 9 in the morning and was done by 2. He even called us several days after the holiday to wish us a Happy New Year and to make sure we were satisfied with everything. Thank you, Damian.

Yeah ... This is definitely a peeve. I remember trying to switch my phone carrier years ago from Verizon to Time Warner and the two appointments I had, the technician failed to show during the 5-hour window Finally, the company told me that they don't offer phone service in my area at the time but they made two installation appointments and had me wait 5 hours?? So I swore that I would never use them for phone service. Well ... That resolved lasted until this past December after enduring 4 separate service visits (4-hour windows for each) over a two month period that I had to switch my service to TWC for my sanity's sake. Fortunately, TWC installed my service with no mishaps and I haven't had an issue since.

Hey- good news. It was ordered online at 5-55pm yesterday (deadline for next day delivery 6pm) and was here by 9am!

Just as in Lucky Lady's post, we like to hear good news as well!

Its not the wait that bugs me. Its when they say they'll be there by 4, so you take the day off work, or you inconvenience someone else to watch your house, and they dont show up till after 5, you could have gone to work that day.

Hey congrats on the remodel. That is exciting!!! I am sitting here waiting too, only I am trying to get out of waiting for what I am waiting for. Darn, I got tangled up in an off guard phone call from a frozen food delivery service. So today they want to come up and do a demo. I told them, "make sure you confirm the day before or else my plans may have changed." Well they didn't confirm and I have changed my mind. These telemarketers are so persistent and I am so stupid for not saying no and hanging up!

I hate having to wait around for someone to show up; they're almost always late and I blow an entire day.

So when will the plane come around to pick us up for the party, Jezer

Yep, good peeve, Jezer. We've all been there, done that and wasted a whole day waiting for a service person to arrive.
