Cause it's my name and I don't like it...To me it sounds feminine and/or childish and I've only met animals named Max in my whole life, never an actual human being.

It's not feminine or childish.... In fact one of my high school coaches name was Max. Names are just names they don't make the person and old folks like me forget them quickly..

It's the name of a boy I taught in a preschool. He was a sweet and kind boy. I like the name.

I don't equate that name as being feminine whatsoever.
Max seems like a cool nickname for a guy. Max could be short for either Maxwell or Maximillian. I think we all go thru some form of love-hate. love or at least an acceptance, whether it be our looks (hair, etc), food, names, other things. Who knows, the next big name sports player or musician may be someone that you appreciate immensely and his name just might be Maxwell

My nephew's name is Maxwell but refered to as Max. It seems to fit him well.

Even though it reminds me of a child, it doesn't mean the name is childish. I think it is a sporting name, not at all childish. In fact, I think it fits a man more than a child- kind of a name that someone grows into.
