Am I happy with life? Yes. My life? Not so much. I could have been luckier.
I feel happier or more content when I have something to look forward to. No matter how insignificant or spectacular. Like a silly sitcom or a long awaited vacation.
You could just give an answer, yes or no, or elaborate if you wish.
The vast majority of the time, yes.

Life in general and the happiness that lies within, is in my opinion relative to the past you leave behind, the choices you make today and in the future, and the dreams your strive for. I consider myself blessed to have the life I have....indeed it is far from perfect, yet so fulfilling in my eyes...... Who could ask for more than that?
It is very difficult for me to relate to people who have been only fortunate in their lives.... who have never been through serious tragedy or pain or health difficulties..... They are so so lucky, and part of me envies their naivete...
Although it frustrates me at times that many seem to lack empathy with others.
Life is certainly fascinating though. That's for sure.
No, when I think of what I dont have. Yes, when I remember what I do have. When I find myself in those moments of "Why Me?, or why not me" I stop and count my blessings. Its not the life I dreamed of but I try and find away to replace the bad with good, and be optimistic about the future.

I'd venture to guess that many, if not most, happy people are not as "fortunate" as you think. They have suffered tragedies in their lives but have overcome adversity and appreciate the positive things, however small those things may be.
That is not to downplay whatever misfortunes you have encountered along the way, sfcambridge. Just understand that many people can empathize with you. Happy people aren't necessarily "lucky," but manage to be happy despite facing awful tragedies in their lives. I think some folks are just wired that way. Perhaps therein lies the good fortune.

This is so true. A person can be happy about what they've overcome.
Depends on the day! You know when you get older you look back and see how you wasted precious time in fretting over such trivial things. The time to be happy is now.
