By the way, nothing to do with the POTD, but one or two of you have mentioned how you get to hear of new words that we use here but aren't used in the US in my thread.
There was one word that my wife used in front of a load of Americans who gave her a blank look.
I won't tell you what it means straight away, but the word was fortnight.
I wonder how many of you know what that is without having to look it up?
On the subject of unfamiliar words and phrases: "Toad choker" just came to mind.
Anyone? I'll give you a fortnight to figure it out...
