What do you think about Irish accents? (funny, places, average)

What i have noticed is that there's as much of an accent variation in Ireland as there is in the UK and the US.
My wife comes from Killarney and she has cousins in Limerick, Cork and Dublin and when the 'Girls' all get together, not only is it truly frightening for any man within 10miles but the variation in accents is really clear. Not just tone but words used and the like. People from one area can spot someone from another region pretty easily. When i first met my wife it was in Sligo and her accent really stood out.
