The personal computer, digital camera, central air conditioning, auto air conditioning

Do you feel that mankind would be better off today had those items been invented earlier?

Can't speak for all of mankind on the above but if I was speaking for them, I'd throw in the dishwasher for women (it seems to me men started helping with doing the dishes around the same time dishwashers were found in most homes ) and for teenagers with after school jobs I'd throw in the cash register that tells you how much change the customer gets and how much to charge when someone buys 2 items when the price is 3 for X number of cents/dollars.

Or do you feel they would have been just modern conveniences and would simply have been more advanced had they been invented earlier?

I'm thinking there is research that shows why things are invented when they are invented but I have no guess.

Everything seems to get more advanced as technology evolves.

If so, which items would those be? - Hmmm.. Sports Illustrated's Swim Suit issue... I'm only kidding but... here we go.
1 - Airplanes (of course )
2 - Computers
3 - The internet
4 - Digital Cameras
5 - Flat-screen high-definition TVs and computer monitors
6 - Fuel injection in cars
7 - Glucose meters for diabetics

Do you feel that mankind would be better off today had those items been invented earlier? - Fuel injection uses gasoline more efficiently, I think if it was introduced in cars many years earlier, we probably would not be having the problems we're having today with gas prices and being under the mercy of oil companies and OPEC.

Or do you feel they would have been just modern conveniences and would simply have been more advanced had they been invented earlier? - Airplanes would have been good to have over 100 years ago for travel, they would have made travel much easier, and safer, and who knows where aviation technology would have taken us, had they been introduced decades earlier. Flat screen TVs and computer monitors would have been good to have 30 years earlier, instead of those bulky CRTs with those picture tubes.

LOL... you're not giving much choice here Joy.. I'll take dipping one of my fingers in acid, it'll hurt for a few days, but it's not like losing the big toes by having.. Camels(???) chew them off. The big toes are often used in standing and walking.
