Milk in the Phoenix Metro areas is generally 20-30% cheaper in the grocery stores than the drug stores. The grocers here use it as a competitive loss leader nearly every week. $1.59 gallon is a common sale price here, sometimes it'll be .88 cents per 1/2 gal.
Wow! That's so cheap for milk! I was real happy yesterday to pay $3.09 for a gallon of milk, on sale.

I do buy canned soup in the dollar store because I don't see the difference between the chicken soup in the regular market and the ones in the dollar store!
