I'm sure this isn't an "unusual" pet peeve but it's one I feel like complaining about nonetheless.
I HATE automated calls, like to your credit card company when their are so many options and it seems to take forever to get an actual person on the line, where you're just pushing button after button after button and where you seem to half the time wind up in the wrong place regardless and have to backtrack or be connected to someone else when you finally get a live person on the phone. What's made things more irritating is the fact that while it used to be the default on most systems to simply dial 0 or nothing at all for awhile, and to be patched through to a customer service representative; nowadays, it seems a lot of companies have caught onto that and won't even present that as an option until you make it to the fifth menu or so, or the number won't be 0, it will be something random, usually at the tail end of options, so you have to listen to all their options and all of their advterisements. It's just grating.

Maybe this is just a regional/local thing, but groups of people congregating in parking lots rub me the wrong way. This goes doubly so for parking lots attached to establishments with seating on premises. Get out of the lot and sit down, or say your farewells and move along! Touch my car, and we're gonna have a problem.

I know where youre coming from on that people 'congregating' in groups somewhere. We were all at a fast food restraunt yesterday after work. Actually, we walked in for late lunch and noticed the place was packed with teenagers. No big deal but these kids were loud, laughing, basically just taking up all the tables and drinking sodas.
We didnt really think much of it, school was probably out and most of these kids probably hang out there every day afterwards anyway but it sure made sitting there and eating our greasy lunch kinda difficult to talk to each other over the crowd of kids, arrrgh!

I have discovered another one this week. People who don't move over on the sidewalk to let someone with a stroller by. The same in malls. Silly me but I thought there was something called manners that a women with a baby in stroller should be able to keep her stroller on the sidewalk instead of being shoved into the grass because people won't let her pass.
People who won't say Good Morning or hello when you pass them on the sidewalk. What happened to common courtesy.

Ugh. My brother is horribly guilty of that. He's done it about a dozen times in the last year or so. I mean, PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW.
Thats a HUGE pet peeve of mine.

I just caught this, and it's hysterical. Indeed, I have rare audio transcripts right after shots were fired.
Agent: "Mr. President! Are you alright!?"
President Kennedy: "Uh yeah, I'm ok."
Agent: "But you were shot in the head!"
President Kennedy: "It's ok. I'll just walk it off."
