When did halloween parties begin to be sexualized? (costumes, women, picture)

When I was in college a few years ago, it was a huge fad for girls to attend halloween parties in "sexy" costumes. "Sexy nurse", "sexy police officer", and "sexy soldier" were some of those that come to mind, but they varied ab absurdum. Girls viewed it as the one night when dressing like a ***** was acceptable. Some men even began to mimic it, although most of them ironically. When did this fad first start? I did not go to any such parties, but I saw the pictures on Facebook.
I'm afraid "Elvira" mistress of the dark started it.
I believe SATEX56 is correct. Elvira was huge, and I can remember seeing quite a few women costumed as her on TV around the holiday in the 80's.
There weren't as many women posing as Morticia in the 60's & 70's in my recollection, at least not on TV.
Elvira was actually a Morticia imitator.
Has been a long time since I saw Elvira. That's a funny promo. Had never seen her without Elvira makeup so just googled. She sure creates a different character with Elvira! Lots of fun!
