We have one of the best public transportation systems in the country. I live 4 miles from a Metro stop. In this area we would be in trouble without it. There is too much traffic as it is.
We have busses too but I never take them. I use Metro to go to events like concerts, soccer. and baseball games which are held in Washington, DC.

Yes, many times.

Good old fashioned maps.

Well, fairly recently I took a wrong turn when I was in Baltimore and I ednded up at a place I did not want to be. Thank goodness I had a Baltimore street map and I was able to quickly get out of it. That rarely happens as I usually know where I'm going.

I haven't worn jeans in over 5 years.

Today’s Question(s):
Does your current hometown have a mass transit system? I wouldn't call it "mass" transit, since I live in a fairly small town, but we do have public transportation.
If so, does it include:
Buses? The city has a few small buses which seat about 15 people.
Streetcars?
Subways?
Light Rail?
Other?

Have you ever traveled on the mass transit in your current hometown? Nope.
Why, or why not? I live in walking distance of most of what I need, so I often walk. Unfortunately, the bus schedule is very limited and doesn't fit well into my schedule, so when I need to go farther out in the city, I drive. The buses don't run at night, and I often do my shopping at night (evening).

Bonus Question:
When you travel, which of the following do you use to find your way:
Maps?
Atlas?
Online map/direction provider?
GPS in your vehicle?
GPS in your phone?
Ask directions?
Just start driving and hope you wind up at least close to your destination?
I used maps and directions from others until I bought a GPS about a year and a half ago. That thing is amazing!
Do you have any stories you’d like to share about getting lost on a road trip? One time, way back in the 1970s, my boyfriend and I were traveling from Indiana to Missouri to attend a wedding. He took a wrong turn in St. Louis and we ended up on a dead-end street in a really awful neighborhood. We were utterly lost and had no choice but to get out of the car and ask for directions. Fortunately, the people we asked were kind and pointed us in the right direction.

Extra Credit Question:
How many pairs of blue jeans do you own? Three that fit; a few others that don't fit.
How old is your oldest pair? Several years.
How old is your newest pair? About one year.
How many days per week do you wear blue jeans? Usually two.

Just for Fun:
Let’s celebrate Pick Strawberries Day! What is your favorite way to eat strawberries? Plain and whole. No sugar or other junk to mask their natural goodness.

Today’s Word:
Meretricious \mĕr’ĭ-trĭsh-əs\ adjective

Attracting attention in a vulgar manner: meretricious ornamentation.
Plausible but false or insincere; specious: a meretricious argument.
Of or relating to prostitutes or prostitution.
Interesting word!

Today Is:
Flower Day I love flowers! There are some pretty flowers in my garden right now, and my rose bush is going crazy with blooms this year.
Pick Strawberries Day I'd like to do that, but it's a little too early for my community. June is the biggest month for strawberry-picking around here.
Eliza Doolittle Day ok....
Weights & Measures Day Okay. Maybe I'll go weight myself.
National Stroke Awareness Day Important stuff.
National Quiche Lorraine Day Delish!

Happy Sunday, everybody!

Good morning!!!

Does your current hometown have a mass transit system? LOL...what's that?

If so, does it include:
Buses?
Streetcars?
Subways?
Light Rail?
Other?

Have you ever traveled on the mass transit in your current hometown? No.

Why, or why not? It's not available.

When you travel, which of the following do you use to find your way:
Maps? If I have one.
Atlas?
Online map/direction provider? I like this
GPS in your vehicle? Don't have one.
GPS in your phone? Don't have one.
Ask directions? If I get lost in a local area.
Just start driving and hope you wind up at least close to your destination?

Do you have any stories you’d like to share about getting lost on a road trip? Nothing too bad. I was the navigator for hubby while traveling the country for 3 1/2 years in our motorhome. I only got us lost 2 times....and you don't want to get lost in a big motorhome pulling a car. You cannot back up without unhooking the car Anyway...they were more wrong turns than actually lost. We made a wrong turn looking for a campground in San Antonio...and we also made a wrong turn in Lake Havasu Arizona. Still not bad considering how much we traveled

Extra Credit Question:

How many pairs of blue jeans do you own? Ooh lots....in all different sizes for my fluctuating weight

How old is your oldest pair? About 6 years.

How old is your newest pair? I got a pair at the thrift store a couple of weeks ago.

How many days per week do you wear blue jeans? Every day. They are the only things that will hold up with the jobs I get involved with......and I need the heavy duty denim not the thin junk made today

Just for Fun:

Let’s celebrate Pick Strawberries Day! What is your favorite way to eat strawberries? Yay....I'm having some right now on my cereal

I like them many ways...chocolate covered, in a green salad with cheese and nuts, and a great dessert...

Almost Sugar Free Trifle
Prepare fat free/sugar free instant pudding (we prefer vanilla, but try other flavors, too, like chocolate or white chocolate or butterscotch) according to directions (large box).

take one angel food cake, tear into bite size pieces, put a layer using 1/2 the cake in the bottom of a glass bowl. (Glass bowl not necessary, but it makes a pretty trifle). Put a layer of fresh fruit on top - we used strawberries, blueberries and grapes, but other stuff works well, too, even cantaloupe.

Put 1/2 of pudding on top of fruit, followed by the rest of the cake, then the rest of the fruit, then the pudding. Top w/fat free cool whip. Put in fridge for at least an hour to let it set. Delicious and almost healthy!

Yummy

Have a wonderful sunday!!!

If so, does it include:
Buses?
Streetcars?
Subways?
Light Rail?
Other?

Have you ever traveled on the mass transit in your current hometown? No

Why, or why not? Always had a vehicle

Bonus Question:

When you travel, which of the following do you use to find your way:
Maps? (when there's actually a decent map to use)
Atlas?
Online map/direction provider?
GPS in your vehicle?
GPS in your phone?
Ask directions?
Just start driving and hope you wind up at least close to your destination?

Do you have any stories you’d like to share about getting lost on a road trip? My favorite was about 9 years ago when I first traveled to Central America. Was in Costa Rica and decided to drive from San Jose to Quepos/Manuel Antonio. Think it was only supposed to be a 2-2.5 hour drive, but the signage just sucked. Drove for hours and realized I must have missed the turn, so I saw these little casitas/bungalows in the middle of nowhere and stopped. I only spoke maybe 3 words of Spanish, so just said 'Quepos???" The senor said "OH SENORA!!!" and pointed further down the road and said "Nicaragua!" Then he pointed back from where I came and said the name of a town I remembered seeing on a sign. So I got to my destination, but man, talk about taking the scenic route

Extra Credit Question:

How many pairs of blue jeans do you own? Think I'm down to 5 or 6 now.

How old is your oldest pair? Around 4 years old - when I did the first move I dumped a lot.

How old is your newest pair? About a year.

How many days per week do you wear blue jeans? That would pretty much be every day unless I'm in shorts. Well, or decide to stay in my flannel lounging pants lol I love working from home

Just for Fun:

Let’s celebrate Pick Strawberries Day! What is your favorite way to eat strawberries? By themselves, with ice cream, whipped cream, in jelly - I love strawberries and ours are very good.

Just start driving and hope you wind up at least close to your destination?LoL! Hubby does this!

Do you have any stories you’d like to share about getting lost on a road trip? All's I'll say is hubby prefers to take the "scenic route" every where, he hates driving on what he calls the "super slides"! So not only do we get lost, we get lost and it takes 4 times as long to get to our destination! The most recent that comes to mind we were traveling to Tenn. last year with our DS, his fiance, 16 y.o. g.daughter, & 3 y.o. g.son. We decided to pull in to Memphis to check out Beale St. Spent a few hours, and when it was time to get back on the Highway, we kept getting turned around. It was still fun!

Extra Credit Question:

How many pairs of blue jeans do you own? long jeans? maybe 6.

How old is your oldest pair? I'm not sure, I have a couple I bought at thrift stores.

How old is your newest pair? maybe a year.

How many days per week do you wear blue jeans? In the winter, every single day!

Just for Fun:

Let’s celebrate Pick Strawberries Day! What is your favorite way to eat strawberries?

Lately I've been putting them in our daily salads. Strawberry short-cake is a fave, also!

Today’s Question(s): Hello Bookwormy and friends! I got me two BIG cans of Chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs so today's Sunday breakfast is really special!

Does your current hometown have a mass transit system?

~ It has buses and trains.

Have you ever traveled on the mass transit in your current hometown?

~ Just once....I took the bus. A lady I was dating at the time and I were at the beach and the car keys fell into the sand and magically disappeared.
We had to hitch a ride into town and take the bus pretty far away to the dealership and have them make a new set of keys using the Vehicle Identification number.
If YOU ever lose your key while you're out somewhere REMEMBER to take the VIN # with you to the dealership!

Why, or why not?

~ 'cause, that's why.

Bonus Question:

When you travel, which of the following do you use to find your way:

Maps?
Atlas? <~~~ Always bring the atlas!
Online map/direction provider?
GPS in your vehicle?
GPS in your phone?
Ask directions?
Just start driving and hope you wind up at least close to your destination?

Do you have any stories you’d like to share about getting lost on a road trip?

~ Nope!

Extra Credit Question:
Yayyyyyyy!

How many pairs of blue jeans do you own?

~ 3 or 4

How old is your oldest pair?

~ I don't know. Old.

How old is your newest pair?

~ Maybe a couple of years, I reckon.

How many days per week do you wear blue jeans?

~ 5

Just for Fun:

Let’s celebrate Pick Strawberries Day! What is your favorite way to eat strawberries?
~ Smash them up real good and shove them up my nose.

~** Thank you, BookWorms! You and all our friends and families have a real nice day! HappySpaghettiWishes to you, too! **~
