Good morning from a beautiful day in Southern England.

Just like yesterday it's gorgeous outside. I have to head up to near London today and I'm half thinking of staying away tonight, in which case I'll aim to do the POTD tomorrow on my phone. That could be interesting.

Anyway, on with today's peeve.

With the good weather comes the buzzy stuff- bugs, flies, wasps etc. I have to say that it's nothing like as worrying as my first sight of an enormous hornet (might have been a wasp) that came into our house in Texas, but the buzzy things can be annoying.

So, the POTD is;

Annoying bugs, inside and out.

Another shot of the lovely spring flowers- these are mainly wallflowers;

Ah! So you got those "terrorists" up there in England. That's what I call them: terrorists!

I once did a rental car trip all over Wales, England, Scotland but I don't believe I recall being annoyed with them on that 3 week trip.

Here, in the desert, they don't exist, too dry, at least here in Las Vegas with our 4 inches of rain a year! Ex Minnesota native does not miss them!

Yep Jezer ....flies and gnats are a pain last couple years here. I think the city supplied new refuse containers are breeding havens for them.

I hate gnats, too. Found an old fashioned way to get rid of them

Put about 1/4 cup of vinegar in a shallow dish. A drop or two of liquid dish washing liquid and set it on the counter, out of the way. The gnats will dive right in and drown ... or whatever they do in the liquid. Some people say to put a piece of plastic wrap over the top of the dish and poke holes in it so they can crawl in. I just leave it open and let them have at it. It's the best way I've found to rid my kitchen of them.

Aargh I know, there are so many pests around here and it starts early. There's gnats, flies, mosquitos, bees, wasps, hornets, dirt dobbers, fireants, **** ants, spiders, snakes and a whole host of other "unknown" creepy crawly or flying things. Gotta love the south.

Perfect solution for the gnats HOM, works very well. No gnats here, hardly any flies, the carpenter bees have been at work on my deck, drilling perfectly round 3/8 holes in the rails to have their nests. The males buzz around protecting the nests, but they don't bite. I stick foil in the holes.

Not a problem at the moment but my house gets loads of Ladybirds, we don't mind them but the little buggers are all over the place (the cat is unimpressed by them though).
