Mornin’ all!

Welcome to today’s QotD! With Memorial Day right around the corner, the camping season is about to officially begin. So...

Question(s) of the Day
Are you a Camper (okay rainroosty, I mean, do you camp, not are you a tent! )?
Or is a cheap hotel your idea of "roughing it?"

If you are a Camper, how do you do it:
Really primitive; tent, outhouse, no showers, no electricity (and no smart phone!)?
Semi-primitive; tent, flush toilets, showers, no electricity?
In a cabin?
In a camping "vehicle" of any sort (with electricity):
pop-up?
pull-behind camper?
RV?
Other?

If you are not a Camper, are you more put-off by:
Bugs?
Wild animals?
Dirt?
Lack of civilized amenities?
Lack of privacy?
Have you just never tried it?
Other?

Just for Fun:
Have you ever "followed" your favorite band, or is there a band or performer that you go see every time they're in town?

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals?

Today in History:
2003 Stanley Cup Finals, New Jersey Devils beat Ottawa Senators 4 games to 3
1982 Colin Wilson rides a surfboard 294 miles
1970 Grateful Dead's in England, 1st performance outside of U.S.
1922 Walt Disney incorporates his 1st film company Laugh-O-Gram Films
1873 Canada's North West Mounted Police Force (RCMPF) forms
1785 Benjamin Franklin announces his invention of bifocals
1618 Imperial civil servants thrown out a window of Prague Castle
1576 Tycho Brahe given Hveen Island to build Uraniborg Observatory

Today’s Word:
chrestomathy \ kres-TOM-uh-thee \ , noun;
1. A collection of selected literary passages.

Today is:
Declaration of the Bab Day
National Taffy Day
World Crohn's and Colitis Day
World Turtle Day

Quote of the Day:
Most people would like to be delivered from temptation but would like it to keep in touch. ~ Robert Orben ~

Have a great day everyone!

I'd rather go fishing, and afterwards spend the night in a bed with a roof over it.

If you are not a Camper, are you more put-off by:
Lack of civilized amenities

Just for Fun:

What? You mean like stalked them? I can't say I really follow bands. I hadn't thought about it, but am more likely to want to see an individual. I don't go to a lot of concerts, but do enjoy them occasionally.

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals?
Not yet. I can see the day is arriving, sort of.

Today is:
World Turtle Day

Good morning to all!

Question(s) of the Day

My days of tent camping and cheap hotels are looong behind me!

We had one for several years. I miss it!
RV?
Other?

Just for Fun:
Have you ever "followed" your favorite band, or is there a band or performer that you go see every time they're in town?
Used to see the Marshall Tucker Band every year they played the Jersey Shore in the late 70's.

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals?
No

I don't mind camping for a weekend occasionally with other adults - but I don't like camping with kids. I think it's all the dirt and mess that kids bring to camping (and the tent) that puts me off! On the other hand I like cheap hotels - not divy ones, but Mom 'n Pop type motels in small town USA, and pension type hotels in Europe. They are individual and have a 'character' all their own, whereas 3 and 4-star hotels all seem to look and feel like each other.
If you are a Camper, how do you do it:
Really primitive; tent, outhouse, no showers, no electricity (and no smart phone!)? I don't care about the phone but prefer not to camp too primitively.
Semi-primitive; tent, flush toilets, showers, no electricity? This is okay
In a cabin? This is preferable
In a camping "vehicle" of any sort (with electricity): Never tried this
pop-up? Sounds a bit claustrophobic
pull-behind camper? Not sure what this is - caravan??
RV? Never tried this
Other?

If you are not a Camper, are you more put-off by:
Bugs?
Wild animals?
Dirt?
Lack of civilized amenities?
Lack of privacy?
Have you just never tried it?
Other? I don't like being cold or too hot.

Just for Fun:
Have you ever "followed" your favorite band, or is there a band or performer that you go see every time they're in town? The only bands/performers we get in our small town are second-raters who 'cover' usually dead famous artists! Not worth following!

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals? Yup!

Thanks PatsCats.

Happy Hump Day.

Lack of privacy? I don’t mind roughing it with the exception of no Internet and having zero alone time (assuming I’m camping with other people)!

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals? No, but I did growing up for awhile. Then I had to switch to separate reading and distance cause my lenses were too thick for bifocals. Now I read with my fingers. No bifocals for me!

I have always wanted to try camping. There are plenty of adverts on the telly for camping equipment. I have talked this over a few times with Judy. Her answer. "Where do I plug in my hairdryer in a tent." Roughing it to Judy is anything less than 4 star hotel.

Good morning!!!

Are you a Camper (okay rainroosty, I mean, do you camp, not are you a tent! )? I would say I'm more of an RVer. I live in the country with nature, woods, and water all around....so when I go camping I want to be social and have amenities I don't need to "get away" from it all

Or is a cheap hotel your idea of "roughing it?" Ooh....I don't like those. They can be really nasty especially when you have a small fat dog and you have to get a nasty dog room.
Some of those rooms give me the heebie jeebies....and today you have to be concerned about bed bugs
Here is the bed bug registry if you want to check out your temporary digs.

Bed Bug Registry City Maps

If you are a Camper, how do you do it:
Really primitive; tent, outhouse, no showers, no electricity (and no smart phone!)? I did that when I was a kid..so been there done that, lol
Semi-primitive; tent, flush toilets, showers, no electricity?
In a cabin? I like doing that
In a camping "vehicle" of any sort (with electricity):
pop-up?
pull-behind camper?
RV? Oh yeah....now this is the life. This is the only time you will ever see my DH relaxed

Other?

If you are not a Camper, are you more put-off by: You should try it. I love having my own bed, kitchen, and bathroom while I am traveling. It's cool to stop at a rest area and cook up some bacon and eggs for breakfast
Bugs?
Wild animals?
Dirt?
Lack of civilized amenities?
Lack of privacy?
Have you just never tried it?
Other?

Just for Fun:
Have you ever "followed" your favorite band, or is there a band or performer that you go see every time they're in town? No.

Bonus Question:
Do you wear bifocals? No.

Hi!

Question(s) of the Day
Are you a Camper (okay rainroosty, I mean, do you camp, not are you a tent! )? Nope
Or is a cheap hotel your idea of "roughing it?" No

If you are not a Camper, are you more put-off by:
Bugs
Wild animals
Dirt
Lack of civilized amenities
Lack of privacy
All of the above

Just for Fun:
Have you ever "followed" your favorite band, or is there a band or performer that you go see every time they're in town? I never followed anyone - no time and no money!
And I wish there were some artists I could go and see on a regular basis, (or even just once, at least).

Have a lovely day!
