Good morning, Karla! Glad you got some rain at last - hope it's enough to keep the gardens and lawns happy.

Today's Question(s):
Its "Watch Day" so lets talk about Watches

Do you wear one?

Yup, sure do - I couldn't survive without one.

How many watches do you own?

Only one. It's a functional tool, not a fashion statement, so I don't feel the need to have multiples.

Do you remember when "Swatch Watch" became popular in the 80's?

I have no idea what those are.

Did you own one?

I'm guessing probably not!

Bonus Question:

It is also parking meter day

Are there parking meters in your town?

Oh, ya, you betcha! They're a major source of revenue for the city.

When was the last time you parked at a Meter?

I generally opt for the parking ramps rather than the meters, but I think I used a meter spot last winter when I went downtown for an errand.

Extra Credit Question:

Who has vacation plans for this summer?

We generally don't vacation in the summer, as we are both busier than usual at work. We have a trip planned over Labor Day weekend, and a week in Door County in October.

When it comes to taking a vacation do you prefer:
One long trip?
or
Several short trips?

Either works well, though for reasons of cost, we generally opt for shorter ones.

Which of the above have you most recently done?

It's been a while since we last vacationed. I think it was a short trip, but I'm not sure.

Just for Fun:

Have you ever tried making homemade:
Bread?
Yup!
Ice Cream? Yup!
Butter? Yup!
Wine? Yup!
Beer? Yup!
Other? Pies and piecrusts, gingerbread houses, cookies, etc.

.....of course without refrigerators, it was hard to keep the darn stuff cold.

Today's Question(s):
Its "Watch Day" so lets talk about Watches

Do you wear one ? No way. Between tactile signing and caning, that’s way too much wrist-clutter.

How many watches do you own ? The one on my phone—does that count?

Do you remember when "Swatch Watch" became popular in the 80's ? Nope.

Did you own one ? I was one month old on the last day of the 80’s.

Bonus Question:

It is also parking meter day

Are there parking meters in your town ? I imagine so.

When was the last time you parked at a Meter ? You don’t want me parking any cars…lol.

Extra Credit Question:

Who has vacation plans for this summer ? Already visited a friend for Memorial Day.

When it comes to taking a vacation do you prefer:
One long trip ?
or
Several short trips ?

Which of the above have you most recently done ? A short trip. I might go for another one, finances permitting.

Just for Fun:

Have you ever tried making homemade:
Bread ?
Ice Cream ?
Butter ?
Wine ?
Beer ?
Other ?

Word of the Day:
cater-cousin \KEY-ter-kuhz-uhn\ , noun;
1. A very close friend.

Strange word, lol. It doesn’t sound like what it means.

Today is:
Parking Meter Day
Jelly-Filled Doughnut Day
Watch Day
Vacuum Cleaner Day
Shoo Fly Day
World Oceans Day
Upsy Daisy Day

Enjoy your day folks!

2 of the exact same watch.

Do you remember when "Swatch Watch" became popular in the 80's ?

Yes

Did you own one ?

Yes.

Bonus Question:

Are there parking meters in your town ?

Nope.

When was the last time you parked at a Meter ?

I'm going to go with the mid 1980s.

Extra Credit Question:

Who has vacation plans for this summer ?

I do!

When it comes to taking a vacation do you prefer:
One long trip ?

Several short trips ?

Long/short is in the eye of the beholder. I drive to all of my vacation destinations. This year it will take a day and a half to get to where I'm going and then I will be driving every day to other destinations once I get there for 15 days. I consider that to be a long road trip. Now if I flew to England, for example, it would be a shorter trip time-wise, but not distance-wise.

Which of the above have you most recently done ?

Most recently I drove to a wildlife refuge in my state and stayed overnight in the town. The trip took about 4.5 - 5 hours one way.

Just for Fun:

Have you ever tried making homemade:
Bread ?
Ice Cream ?
Butter ?
Wine ?
Beer ?

No

YaaaaaY Friday, good to see u kwak

Well lotza questions but I am not into watches or parking meters for the most part. I use my cellphone and avoid areas where I have to pay at a meter for the most part at least for the past several years. However, I may rethink the watch thing.

I have already taken 3 short road trips and was planning a very long one that would land me in a state of a guy (the kind mama likey)&wood I'd love to see more of... if u know what I mean... lol but since I know I want to do right and being in that close proximity may make me do very-very bad, I am thinking of using my money to send my son to basketball camp and trip my ride- get after market exhaust, illegal dark tent (that is really legal), a booming sound system- so my truck can go rrr-zoom-zoom and/boom-boom BOOM when I ride And if I have any money left maybe one short road-trip very very close to home so I may retain my "good-gurl" status

I have made homemade ice cream or at least helped. Totally on the homemade bread- I am quite good at it, but I am not doing much of it lately. I don't think I have ever done butter, beer or wine at least not on purpose. I used to make homemade play-dough all the time for my kids at home and at school, but I am not doing either these days.

allyall have a good day an even better night and no regrets in the morning light

Make Peace and Spread the Love

Good afternoon all from a dry, for now, England. Now then, watches. I have a very nice Rotary watch, and a cheap almost Rolex I bought in Turkey. It was only $7, but works great!! We don't have parking meters in my town. People have to buy a ticket at a machine, and stick it on their windshield. The last time I saw a meter was in Manchester years ago. This is a big nearby city. We went to see 'Phantom of the Opera' one evening. The meter said it was free after 6pm, so we did'nt have to pay!! Trips mm. We went for a week in Cyprus a little while ago. The next trip is to Las Vegas in October. That is for two weeks. The longest trip we ever had was three weeks in Greece a few years ago. That was a little too long. Have a nice day everyone.
