Good Morning Peevers.

I don't know why I'm smiling. It's absolutely piddling down and looks set to do so for the rest of the flipping week.

Anyway, Miss J should be in Turkey by now where hopefully it will be hot and sunny. Thing is I don't know and will find out when Mrs J switches on her Blackberry, where hopefully there will be a text message.

That gives me the idea for today's peeve which is;

Not knowing how someone is.

Good peeve Jezer. My wife Judy's daughter, and my two sons are always going on about not being able to get in touch when we are out and about. All three say the same thing. Why do we not carry mobile phones so they can get us when they want? Judy has a phone in the car so she can call the AA if in trouble, but it's never switched on as a matter of course. I have an old phone of Judy's, but never use it. We have just never got in the habit of carrying phones about with us!!

I can relate,, sometimes when someone is in flight or in surgery you have no way of knowing if theyre okay until they have the ability to use their phones. Then the roaming charges, yikes!

It's when they pop into your mind and you don't know why and you then can't get hold of them... it just eats at you until you can.

That's always worrisome especially when they're so far away.

I'd heard that she was okay, but she also phoned home this evening.

She chose the right week to go. The weather there is great- here it is absolute and complete crap.
