Today’s Question:
When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now? My favorite was The Zipper. I loved that it zipped around and that half the time the little cars were hanging upside down. I haven't been on a wild ride like that for a long time!

Extra Credit Question:
What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Going to Prott's Ditch on my bike with my friends and getting all muddy. It was a forbidden place. Did you get caught? Yes. I went there frequently and got caught frequently! I could never lie to my mom, and if she asked me where I'd been, I told her and took the punishment. Hanging out at Prott's Ditch (a creek and swampy area in an overgrown field a couple blocks from our house) was always worth a spanking! If so, what was your punishment? A spanking with a wooden spoon. Ouch!

Bonus Question:
Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard? None. I'm good about not eating over my keyboard.

Just for Fun:
(Nitram’s suggestion)
What size feet do you have? 6W. Like a little duck!

Today’s Word:
Bathetic \ buh-THET-ik \ , adjective;
1. Displaying or characterized by insincere emotions: the bathetic emotionalism of soap operas. Haha. Good example!

Today Is:
Race Your Mouse Around the Icons Day Okay, I just did it!
Crackers Over The Keyboard Day Noooooo!
Radio Commercial Day No, thanks. That's why I usually listen to XM Radio. No commercials on the music stations. Works well for my lengthy commutes to and from work each day.
National Bow Tie Day I like these on some men. I also like bow tie pasta!
National Cherry Turnover Day Now, that's something I'd like to sink my teeth into this morning! With a nice cup of hot tea.

I was going to write Happy Wednesday here, but just realized it's only Tuesday. Sheesh.

HAPPY TUESDAY, EVERYBODY!

Default Hurray, Hurray!! It's Cherry Turnover Day!! YUM!!

[quote=Kobber;25838846]Good morning everyone and welcome to QOTD for Tuesday, 28th August. I’m hoping that Hurricane Isaac is a fizzer – but for everyone in its path in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida…. Good luck and stay safe. Prayers going up for everyone's safety, and for their pets too!

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now? I have issues with heights, but roller coasters are the exception! And yeah, I still ride them!

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment? I got in trouble all the time for all kinds of reasons. Playing in the swamp was a big no no, but we did it all the time anyway... but if my Mama caught my brother and I, it wasn't pretty!

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard? So far there haven't been any "anythings", which is amazing when I think about how often I'm grabbing a bite while online.

Just for Fun:

(Nitram’s suggestion)
What size feet do you have? Well, I'm 5'9", and have skinny size 8 feet.

Mornin' all!

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now?
I loved the roller coaster (Willard's) Whizzer at Great America in Gurnee IL. It had a corkscrew! I might try it again today, but the newer coasters send me into a migraine, and I don't need any help with that!

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment?
I was a pretty good kid, apart from my mom being overprotective. I really didn't want to endanger myself. That said...as a teenager, I did ride my bike on the backroads to the far side of the next town to see my boyfriend. You are reading this, so no, I did not get caught.

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard?
Nothing...unless you consider pet hair to be "tasty morsels."

Just for Fun:

(Nitram’s suggestion)
What size feet do you have?
Big enough that it seems the most fashionable shoes I can find are nurses shoes. But you couldn't pay me enough to wear those pointy-toed shoes. Another thing I don't need help with is making my feet appear bigger!

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now?
I loved the log rides, but don't think I could handle it now cause you just get too wet

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment?
As a child I was pretty good, but as a teenager....I was terrible. I always got caught it seems, and I was beat. The list is too long of bad things I did, but being hit and abused made me even more rebellious. Yeah, great memories.

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard?
Maybe some bread crumbs and salt

Just for Fun:

Something tame like the Monorail at Disneyland and yes, I would still enjoy it.

Extra Credit Question:

Good morning, Kobber, and thank you for today's QOD, as well as the wishes. My sister lives in the Keys, and was happy to report they were spared though it did look like Isaac was going to be visiting there for awhile. I hope everyone else is equally blessed.

Today’s Question

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now? Not then, or now! I have a queasy stomach and one needs only to spew in public twice to know that amusement park rides are not for them. That and a general aversion to crowds keeps me far from them.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment? Oh, I was a brat. When I was about seven I shoplifted a something -- I don't even remember what it was, from the local Ben Franklin. My mother discovered it when we got home and made me not only go back and pay the store manager for it, but return it as well. Undeterred, the situation was repeated when I was 14, at a Target, only then I was caught by the security guard. (I am convinced I was a thief in a former lifetime, and had to serve the penance in this life to satisfy the bad karma. )

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard?
Sadly, I am known to work through my lunch break, so anything could be in there. I often turn the keyboard upside down and shake out what can be loosened. Once I had to have our IT admin replace a keyboard because I'd spilled my soda onto it and the keys started to stick.

Just for Fun:
(Nitram’s suggestion) What size feet do you have? Thanks, Nitram. How thoughtful of you! 8.5B in US.

Today in History:

1565: Oldest city in the U.S., St. Augustine Fla, established A lovely place to visit!
1963: Evergreen Point Floating Bridge connecting Seattle and Bellevue opens Now accessible only to those that can afford the tolls.

Today Is: National Cherry Turnover Day I cannot leave long enough to cook them so I eat them fresh from the bowl!

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now?

Hmmm... I don't think I went to any.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment?

That's way too long ago. I don't remember!

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard?

I don't eat anything near computer. I might have some "easy" fruit like grapes or baby carrots...

Just for Fun:

(Nitram’s suggestion)
What size feet do you have?

Pretty big, I think - 8
( it's funny because that is also the size of my clothes, rings, bracelets and my gloves )

Today’s Question:

We lived on base on Stewart AFB in New York. What we would do is so amazing to me now. How on earth could we do this. There were 2 or 3 of us who were around 6 years old. We all lived across the street from the officer's club and behind the club was the fence that served as the edge of the base. Would you believe that we would dig under the chain link fence and go off base to a farmer's house? We would eat with that family and their kids would show us things like a bear's lair. It was great fun but who would believe it was so easy for little kids to get off and on base? I don't know if we were ever caught. I simply don't remember. There was very little base housing at the time. I think there were only about 20 families on base. The ironic thing is that we had to live on base because my father was involved in security. LOL

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard? Cheetos crumbs.

What size feet do you have? Huge. I was wearing an 8.5 in the 7th grade. I was ashamed of my feet and my mother would say things like this to me:

"I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet."

"You're a poet
And don't know it.
But your feet show it.
They're Longfellows."

"You have a lot of understanding."

"Jackie Kennedy wears size 9."

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now? Tilt-a-whirl. I'd ride it today.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment? The family TV sat on a stand with casters, so I ran it down the hallway, pretending it was a patient on a gurney being rushed into the ER. Unfortunately while making a sharp turn to get through the double doors leading to the make pretend emergency room, I lost the patient. Those old TVs make quite a bit of noise when they hit the floor and break into a million pieces. Everyone in the house heard the crash. Needless to say I only got to play that game once.

Today’s Question:

When you were a teenager, what was your favourite funfair or theme park ride? Would (or do) you enjoy that same ride now?
Gotta be roller coasters for me, used to ride the old wood one at Cedar Point in OH for hours at a time.
Would still ride them today, the mind is willing, but the body, not so much.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the naughtiest thing you remember doing when you were a child? Did you get caught? If so, what was your punishment?
Probably tipping over a out house back in the 40's. Didn't get caught, but everyone had the suspicions who did it.

Bonus Question:

Today is Crackers Over the Keyboard Day. What tasty morsels might be found in your computer keyboard?
No food near my keyboard, but it needs a good cleaning to remove grime from the keys.

Just for Fun:

(Nitram’s suggestion)
What size feet do you have?
Depending on the style 8 to 8 1/2 E or EE. Thank you New Balance.
