Another strange coinkedence! Rance and I work for two different divisions of the same company. And, no, I didn't know him before coming to CD forum.

The place we have breakfast at every sunday has pretty good bagels , so I asked the owner where he gets them. So he gives me the name and number.
I called yesterday and spoke to this really nice woman, when I asked where they were located so I could buy some, she told me that they were wholesale only. When I said "sadly" they are the closest I have found to bagels that are "boiled before baking" like I get up north she explained that they steam them first.
She then said she grew up in phila so she knew this was the way to "do" bagels.
So we got to chatting because I grew up in phila
now how is this for coincidences
she grew up in phila as did I
she lived in NJ the same time frame and town as I did, as a matter of fact I could see her apt complex from mine.
We are both now living in Jax
here is the real kicker
After a nice chat I asked her name and it turns out her first name is my middle name
I am going to have to stop by there one day to say "hi" in person
karla
oh yeah lol I set up an account and will be picking up my first bagel order shortly
good thing I kept my company info

Stopped at a rest area in New Mexico several years ago. Got talking with a couple driving a U Haul. In 1963, I was in the class behind her at an elementary school in Norfolk, VA. We'd had the same teacher!
When I was stationed in Germany, I was assigned to the same squadron as a distant relative that I previously never knew existed!

Several years ago, my mother-in-law was visiting with us. My wife and I figured that she would enjoy seeing a small Mexico across the border about 3 hours away. While walking through the crowded area of shops there with so many people, we heard a voice yelling “aunt Clare ~ aunt Clare”. Seems my wife’s cousin spotted her from several shops behind us. The cousin was visiting the area from Boston, mother-in-law visiting from Omaha, and my wife and I were visiting from Phoenix. Funny how we ran into each other thousands of miles away from several different locations in yet another strange town where few people spoke English.

Before we were married, my wife and I were having lunch at the airport in Montreal one day, when, from out of the blue came a voice saying "Hi Martha, is that you? What in the world are you doing here?" It was her brother-in-law's parents, who were returning from somewhere in Europe. Neat little lunch we all had together. I didn't know these people at all, but through the years we have shared many a holiday table together and they turned out to be such great people to know.

Recently I was in a public place and overheard a woman talking. By her conversation (where she was from, what her husband did for a living) I recognized her as someone who had posted in the Texas forum who did not like living in the town we both live in and had plans to move. I thought about messing with her--telling her I was psychic and could tell she was unhappy here but there was a move in her future--but I just kept my mouth shut. It did make me realize that we're not really anonymous on here.

I wonder if anyone I know is a CD Land addict... hmmm. I barely ever visit my Maryalnd/DC forums.... they're just full of the reminders of the type of people/culture here that I'm trying to avoid in real life, lol. I spend more time in Alabamer! I think once my truck is paid off I'm gonna pack it up and move there.
