Good morning peevers.

Phew! That's nice!

I've just got to sit down after getting back from an early morning run up to town to get some bits and bobs from the sales.

It wasn't busy at all where we went, though the big towns will probably be so.

As for a peeve a quick look through the BBC news website revealed this;

BBC News - 0845 and 0870 phone lines: Government departments warned

I think that you also have premium rate telephone numbers which may be difficult to avoid having to use.

Let us know because the POTD is;

Premium rate telephone numbers.

Good peeve, Jezer. Really is shameful those numbers are being used for some essential services like victim support.

Interesting peeve, Jezer... wasn't aware of this, so had to look this up to see how it applies in the U.S., here's what wiki had to say about the usage of these worldwide: Premium-rate telephone number - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Appreciate you bringing it to our attention, forewarned is forearmed!

I read the article. That sounds awful, Jezer! What a silly thing, for public services to have premium phone numbers that cost more for citizens to call.

Premium rate telephone numbers.

The company I worked for put a block on these types of numbers because of the costly rates and most were porn numbers.

The only premium rate numbers I'm aware of are the 900 numbers and we avoid them like the plague. Ocassionally an odd series of 800+ numbers show up and we avoid those too. Actually we screen all of our incomming numbers.
I think there is less control and more problems outside the US with those premium numbers.

Hmm.. I don't even think my cell phone can hold anywhere close to 900 numbers.. maybe 500.. If I'm lucky..

Premium phone numbers.. I've never heard of those.. Unless you're referring to spending Quarters making phone calls from pay phones.. which we don't see too much anymore..

Premium Rate.. I'd prefer using the Medium or Regular Rates, they're cheaper and my truck runs fine on them..
