Today's Question(s):
What does a typical breakfast look like for you?
Cold cereal with 1% milk and sliced banana, low-sodium V-8 juice, decaf coffee with whole milk.

Bonus Question(s):
When cooking something that requires you to boil water, do you start with whatever temperature water comes out of the tap, or do you start with the hottest tap water you can get?
I always use cold water because I read somewhere that you shouldn't use hot tap water for cooking.

What was the last food you cooked in boiling water?
I cooked some red potatoes for potato salad on Memorial Day.

Just for Fun:
You're entertaining this evening, just as many people as fit comfortably in your living room. What are you putting out for "light refreshments" and appetizers?
Cheese and crackers, hummus, grapes, roasted cashews, lightly steamed chilled asparagus spears with sesame mayonnaise

Thanks, PatsCats!
That was interesting about the origin of the name James Bond.

Right now ten people could be comfortably seated in the chairs and sofas that are already in my living room at the farm. Several more chairs could easily be added or the ten people could just dance. It's a big room!

For drinks we'd probably serve sodas, water or tea. Beer if someone wanted it. For food, we could have chips and dip of various kinds.

I suppose Roger Tory Peterson would have been a bad choice for a 007 agent?

You're entertaining this evening, just as many people as fit comfortably in your living room. What are you putting out for "light refreshments" and appetizers? We don't do "light" appetizers here. We pig out. We go straight for the main course. For refreshments, I will provide various non-alcoholic beverages for those who do not imbibe. And a bar cart for the rest of us.
