Interesting how long the idea of Vactrains has been around. Pretty cool idea, but I'm sure big oil and the auto makers didn't want to see that happening and still don't.

This is also in the works.. http://www.maglev.net/transatlantic-maglev not a vacuum tube as we know.. but underwater maglev.
