No peeking here but unfortunately together UPS and Costco have blown it for one of my kids at least. I hate ordering online but since they were all out of one item in the stores I had to order online. I watched the front door most of the day on the expected delivery date but gave up at 4:30 to go make dinner. Well at 6:00 during dinner my oldest says "there's a package on the front step".... uh oh I missed them. I rushed to the door to find the package leaning face up with a full color picture on the front of the contents. All of my kids had been playing outside in the front yard right when the package was delivered! Well that was two weeks ago and while the package was technically for my other daughter they share just about everything. The older one continued to drop hints about the item for the past 2 weeks. I finally pulled her aside last night and told her about the anticipation element of Christmas and asked her to please not ruin it for her sister. The best I gift I get every Christmas is the priceless looks on their faces when they open the one special gift under the tree.

I don't peak at my gifts, because I like the anticipation & element of surprise too. We don't always exchange gifts on holidays...we get things for each other through out the year. We have more fun playing Santa for our boys.

wait now everyone is telling me I am the only "peeker"
sigh lol now I feel guilty
ok for those of you that you picked out or bought and wrapped for yourself do you at least at surprised when you open them.
lol if not you should I promise the looks you get from the person that knows you know will be priceless.
I have been practicing my "yay a new iron" look for a couple of weeks since I ordered it online.
I have this down pretty good, remember I picked out the present my mother in law gave me a couple months ago for my 50th
though I have no idea what hubby is getting for me
so there will be some surprises

Ha! I agree! I advise all moms to get a present for themselves and be surprised when you open it...kids will think it's from Santa, and you won't be dissappointed that the best gift Dad got you was towels!

I picked out a couple things but I don't know for sure if I'm getting them or not.
I did tell my s/o to not bother putting anything under the tree because I'm great at guessing and on days like these when I have too much time on my hands, my mind begins to wander and I think about peeking, shaking, etc.
I like to be surprised though.

No haven't peeked at all...but because I have been dawdling with my Christmas shopping, I dragooned (meaning coerced) my daughter to do some of my shopping for me today and I would watch the kids.
I love maple syrup!!!!!!!

I had to dragoon the dogs to go out and they did not "dawdle" as they normally do
The good thing is I can wear the fleece jacket I got when we were with Rance & Sweden up in Alaska.
Ok todays question:
Have you peeked at any of your presents?
We promise not to tell
Today in history:
December 17 1843 - "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens was published in London and immediately sold out. He wrote the story in just two months, beginning in October, 1843 and finishing at the end of November.
2 Words of the day today:
dragoon (druh-GOON) verb tr.
To force someone to do something; coerce.
dawdle /ˈdɔdl/ verb (used without object)
1. to waste time; idle; trifle; loiter:
2. to move slowly, languidly, or dilatorily; saunter.
–verb (used with object)
Today is National Maple Syrup Day

Here comes Santa Claus, Here come Santa Claus...
Here's my story: I was alone in the house. I tip-toed slowly to the tree, because I didn't want to wake the dog - this way there were no witnesses. I then approached the wrapped gifts. I told myself I'd just shake it...but oh, it didn't make a noise. Maybe if I just peel back the tape I can see the box between the folds of the wrapping paper? Hmmm, nobody would mind. Darn it's in a plain box - maybe if the paper just accidentally slips off. Ah, yes now I can open the box much easier....hmmm, what is that inside? Dang tissue paper getting in the way...ohhh, it's red and silky...with a little bit of lace. Hurry wrap it back up someone's at the door!! Since nobody saw these events take place it may be that it never happened.
