Are you guided by FEAR or FAITH?
Many of us have read hundreds of posts expressing varying viewpoints on this forum. I've noticed two decisive attitudes from people who are facing a decision.
Some appear to be motiviated by fear - fear of the future, circumstances they do not like, or feel they cannot control, for example.
Others appear to be motivated by faith - going toward something better, hope for a life they envision...
What are your thoughts on this?
What motivates you?
Do you think people make better choices coming from one attitude over another?
TIA!

For me I think it is both.
I think if you base it on one alone you really are not making a completely informed decision.

Well, I'm always looking for a better, less stressful, content life. I guess that means I'm motivated by faith. Often it feels like a shaky faith though. Things seem to be changing so much in this country that I sometimes wonder if what I'm looking for is out there anymore.
Don't you think, too often in today's world, there are people motivated by greed or power too?

About moving maybe a very little bit of fear, but not much, It's mostly faith in the future, of better things, better weather. I have a really strong faith in God that's what motivates me.

Both. Faith in God and some fear of the cold, possible unemployment etc.

I think that depends on your personality for the most part. I'm basically a very optimistic fellow. I have no fear of the future or circumstances changing and I have usually acted based on what I have envisioned as my goal/s, which has been usually future oriented. In my experience, I always have landed on both feet, and in a better position. I don't think that God is guiding my every move and I've acted on my will, not His (I think), but I've prayed about big decisions and what I'm about to do and asked God to back me up if it's His will. I also act on gut feelings. To me making decisions to act or not act based on fear is self-defeating. It would rob the person of living life and experiencing all that life has to offer. Also, in my opinion, fear looks worse to the fearful person that it does to an onlooker; overblown, overexaggerated, and basing decisions, especially not to act on what you wish to do, or, to do what you don't want to do, based on nameless fears or unproven fears, or unlikely fears result in regret and wistful looking over one's shoulder at what could have been. I operate in the area that I'm saved. I'm going to Heaven because I believe Jesus died for my sins, no less, no more. There's no room in my life for fear beyond regular common sense fears like my staying off the roads today because of the heavy rain and fierce winds. I wanted to go to LaMar's Donuts and get a custard filled chocolate bar (or ten... ), yet figured...hmmm, this weather is so bad that it's not worth tempting fate over fantastic donuts. I'll wait.

What are your thoughts on this? Depend on the post, how is the issue affecting my needs. I do have faith, but the issues that we discuss at times are of personal views and our deep and true feelings or true personal views will come up.
Most of us are attempting to assist someone else concerns. Therefore fear is not an issue, rather positive views to provide assistance.
What motivates you? The need of others and the desire to aid.
Do you think people make better choices coming from one attitude over another? Choices are based on your believes and life experiences. Example: most the time you actions will reflect who you are and how your social environment has affected you. Has someone ever told you not play with fire (meaning any concern) and we normally will get burned.
Great questions….

Faith 99% of the time. I don't have time to fear because I fear Him that is able to save or destroy.
