There's been a lot of movies and TV shows depicting human civilization ending around this time. Asteroids, black holes, gamma ray bursts, wars, aliens, zombies, etc. Let's say though that none of this pans out at all, as I'm personally not very worried any of it will in the next few years. What's your idea of what the world would look like on this day in 2114? It can be politically, technologically, socially, etc or a combination of.

Hover cars, light sabres, jetpacks in every home...

....Oh wait, that was my vision of 2015, back in 1995.

Hard for me to estimate. I think surveillance and media and such will be even more prominent than now. 1984 will probably occur closer to 2084.

I think the planet will be here just fine, with the billions of people here too. I just do not believe that the USA in its current form will be here. it will more than likely be split into 4-5 different countries.

Civil riots between all nationalities and religion's in the US and all other parts of the world will destroy everyone. If not by 2015 then those looking down on us will annihilate us for being troublemakers. Let the asteroids begin.
BTW it's already predicted that the sun will eat up the earth in about 2 million years. Al Gore was right, global warming you know.

Oil and chemical soaked polluted waters both on the surface and underground. Industrial and energy wastes continue to pollute the air and soil each day. We’re a destructive nation when it comes to the needs of protecting our environment and living with nature. We need clean water for drinking and clean air for breathing and if we don’t change our grandchildren will be the ones to suffer for our inaction. Scientists attempt to inform citizens but only few are listening. The government needs or tries to enact controls but legislators and representatives are bought off by corporate lobbyists so nothing gets corrected and things worsen.

America was a leading nation in the world; however we’re not leading the world in efforts of improving our earth. If changes aren’t made now then improvements will never happen in the future. A different world cannot be built by indifferent people. Our society will be doomed to fail and this once green and blue marble in the universe will be nothing more than a lifeless rotating brown ball.

The world finally comes around to acknowledging the Earth's precarious environmental state and begins in all earnestness to save the planet.
