Trivial but annoying things
I recently started a thread about how common it is to see the words "a lot" written as one word instead of two. It brought way more responses than I had expected. Some responses were to state how trivial they thought my concern was. I did post it under the category of "Education" so I do not understand why someone would not realize that if the small things are established as inconsequential in education, we eventually lower the bar bit by bit until the larger more relevant things become the trivial things. My thread might have brought this small thing to the attention of individuals that will no longer write "a lot" as one word, in which case, I have successfully educated some people and they will no longer make this small but annoying infraction of the rules of grammar. This has given me the idea to start another thread about the trivial, but annoying things that people do "a lot." There really should be a category on these boards titled "Simple Logic and Common Sense."

annoying to me when people use it's instead of its just in a random way without regard to whether it is it is two words with a verb, or it's its one word possessive. Honestly people have said since it's possessive, it needs the apostrophe! As in the dog lost it's bone. aaaaaaaaa

so do we get to post only annoying grammar things? Or ANY simple annoying things people do? Like when my darling son whom I love dearly for a 6 month period when he was 3 years old would pick his nose and wipe it on the wall?

People who have a two car garage, a driveway that will hold two cars, and both cars spend all their time in the street.
Are they too stupid to figure out why they have a garage and driveway?
