Our old coffee maker had a glass carafe, and we used to rinse it with hot water before brewing. Now we have a thermal carafe so that isn't necessary. I'm like Frydazechild, though -- I prefer coffee that's not super hot. The temperature of a baby's bathwater is just about right.
Great idea to heat the carafe before brewing. I'd never thought of that one!
I like my coffee scalding hot or icy cold. Room temp - bleccccch! One of my co-workers always puts an ice cube in his coffee mug right after he pours his coffee. To each his or her own!
