What a fantastic idea! Ever since I read your post I've been trying to figure out how I could pull that off by using one of our closets. Even though, taking down the tree isn't near the chore as putting away all the Christmas crap I have all over the place. One year I'm going to leave all that stuff in a box. Wait till your kids are older and you still have all the 'Christmas Crafts' they made in school.

Default Christmas Tree

Today....and it makes me sad. I love the beauty and animation of the Christmas tree. Not to mention the kitty cats. They adore it. I guess I'm going to have to go to Garden Ridge and get one of those fake ficus trees and put some lights on it for them. Went to the grocery store and it looked "normal" again....plain old grocery store with no decorations of any kind and it just seemed cold and EXPENSIVE once again.

We take ours down around January 6th or just a little after that. It is always a let down to see the house without the decorations.

My new neighbors here were taking their lights down Christmas Day and their tree was at the curb the day after. I was so bummed. I might leave my tree out for an extra week just to make up for it.

As of right now the tree and all indoor decorations are still up. Got the yard stuff up last Saturday. Maybe one day next week while the kids are in school I'll get it down and put all up.
UMMM. Actually I have been working on a a setup something like that. My big tree is on a round base with wheels. I also have a bunch of alpine trees 3-5 oot that are decorated. I have a wrap around enclosed front porch. I plan on wheeling the big one out and sticking it back in an alcove. And carefully carrying the alpines and sitting them on the floor. The only trees I have to deconstruct are two feather trees with my antique ornaments. The tedious part is packing up all the other crap. I mean stuff.

I dont like taking everything down cause my house looks nekid. I wish there was another holiday to decorate for. Valentines is too far away.

I leave my manger up until jan. 7th. I take my tree down New years day. I love christmas!! The lights, music and decorations all make sense before the 25th. But after that, it needs to be put away!!

I finally got mine down yesterday and it felt so good. I usually like to take it down New Years Day.
