Default When Do You Take Down Your Christmas Tree?

Do you take down the tree on a set day every year? You know, is there some tradition in your household for taking down the tree?

Does it matter if the tree is real or artificial?

What's the latest you have left the tree up?

We take ours down on "Three King's Day"
(El Dia de Los Tres Reys") which is January 6th.
12 days after Christmas....sort of traditional in our family.

(Google Three King's Day for the low down)..

It works perfectly for us, as we put up our tree only a week or so before Christmas...other folks who put theirs up earlier may not like to keep it up so long.
(Most of our neighbors have taken theirs down already...)

Default No sooner than I have to! LOL!

I leave it up just as long as I can get away with it! (without it being totally socially unacceptable!) I love the Christmas decor in the house and I like to put it up right after Thanksgiving. I like the idea of leaving it up until January 6th (Epiphany) as Besitomio mentioned. Our trees are usually artificial, though. On the years we have had a "real" one, they were usually so dry by Christmas that I disposed of them shortly thereafter (while leaving my other Christmas decorations up though!)

The latest I ever left my Christmas decor up was late January (my teen-age son was having a party then at our house and he wanted me (for whatever reason) to leave them up. So I did.

I’d love to get it down asap but I don’t have the energy to remove all the decorations and put things away “again”. So it’ll stay up for another week or maybe two.

I had what I thought was a great idea, I told hubby this morning we should just put the tree decorated in the corner of the 3rd bedroom

needless to say that idea didn't go over well(thats his stuff room) so the tree will come down either tomorrow or New Years day.

We didnt put up a tree this year, so no problem deciding when to take it down.
I did put out some token decorations and this morning I pretty much packed them away. We are planning to move and showing the house....so it was a minimalist christmas as far as decorations and gifts. Well minimalist, except in the cooking department! lol

We walk through a field of trees as soon after Thanksgiving as we can.
The lights outdoors come on Thanksgiving night.
The Christmas tree goes up early Dec. It goes down by Dec 29th.......this year was the 28th.
The scene, all Christmas, tree and all........gone pretty fast. In fact my tree was at the recycles area yesterday.......sad but true.
It is only because we head south early in January. I put the spring plates in the hutch to come home to. The door decor changes to spring..........and then when I get back.....I don't have to worry about having those things to do.
