Yes it would be the opposite. The mentality behind "metro slang" and "ghetto slang" has the same mentality to me...note I said TO ME. Maybe not to others, but all this jargon is ridiculous to me. <<<That's MY grill.

Now that I've been reading all these posts, I remember what the most annoying word to me is. When I'm talking to someone during the course of a conversation, they say "yeah, yeah, yeah". That's not only annoying but rude.

One more thing ... U.S. Postal Service abbreviations used in everyday written language! CA belongs on an envelope, and nowhere else.

How about "high technology", you never hear about "low technology."

I think this just bad grammar, but I hear "I seen......." more often now than in the past.
When I am out shopping, I hear the younger kids in the mall say "Wow...that is like so gay!" My 19 year old daughter says that's slang for something that's stupid.

Here's a phrase I hear too often, having a meltdown. I think that phrase another annoying phase, "having a cow."

Yes but the good news is, people no longer have problems, now they just have issues and situations. Issues and situations are a positive spin on the negative.
