A week earlier our son died in a miscarriage. My then-wife had just left me, I found out she had pawned all our belongings, and took all my money and worldly possessions (leaving me penny-less and homeless). I was 22 years old.

I am now 64, have been married 37 years to my present wife, retired after 33 years at the same company, with 2 sons who've both graduated college. I own my home with no debts, and have 2 grandchildren. What I thought was my worst day, ended up to be my best day.

A lesson in life; it's not what happens to you that determines your fate. It's what you do, that makes all the difference, and defines you.

I've certainly had some really sad days in my life (family and close friend deaths) but nothing would compare to my wife or children dying before I died.

I believe that each sadness in life adds a scar to your heart such that it eventually becomes unable to beat.

Number 1 was when my father passed away. Since then it has been several very good friends passing away.

I find the question to be very, very offensive, considering this is an Internet forum.
But, hey....that's just me.

While it may not have been the day that's been the worst in my life, maybe, learning of my grandmother's death was devastating. She'd been in the hospital for a few weeks and I wasn't allowed to visit her in intensive care because I was eight years old. She was the only grandparent I'd ever known.

When I died. Well, that's the end of it all, nothing more to prove or accomplish.
No one came to my funeral.
I was buried in Potter's Field.
Gone and forgotten.
bye cruel world.

Oh, as to if there is a heaven or hell, sure, I was sent to hell called planet Earth to atone for my crimes committed on my home world.

Roosty, I agree that this is not the type of thread that belongs in this Other-Topics Forum... better suited, if at all, for the Grief and Mourning Forum.

However, that's only if this OP was a real person in the first place that actually cared about the type question he/she asked - as well as the deeply personal responses that it would generate - rather than simply being the auto-bot that it is - that continues to generate these impersonal threads by the 100's that is totally incapable of any feelings whatsoever!
