Maybe it's because they have bird brains.

Regardless of what it does to birds and other living creatures, tossing chewed gum on sidewalks, and other public places where people have to walk is disgusting, and a word for those who do that - Think of it this way, how would you feel if somebody tossed chewed gum on something you own, or if you stepped on chewed gum and you have to scrape it off your shoes?

I've also found chewed gum placed under tables at a couple of restaurants in the past, which is just as disgusting as stepping on it. Somebody was probably too lazy to walk to the bathroom and dispose of it properly..

Chewing gum actually saves some birds. It pulls the fillings out of my teeth and I can't eat my fried chicken.

Nothing makes me madder than to have gum thrown on the ground. Once you step on it clean up isn't easy. Animals getting ahold of it would be worse. Society as a whole has gotton pretty bad for littering with making highways, parking lots and other public places their litter boxes with cigarette butts, wrappers, plastics, fast food containers anything else they can throw out their car windows. Its embarrassing to me to think people driving through our city and state and seeing this debris. There used to be a commercial years ago where an Indian was surveying the landscape and tears running down his cheek. Am sure that's how many of us feel when out on the roads of each persons city streets and highways.
