cloven;40936965]Happy Monday August 24, everybody-and welcome to QOTD.

Today’s Question:
Do you have a waffle iron ? No
Do you have a portable griller/sandwich maker ? No

Extra Credit:
Do you have “loyalty cards” (discount, incentive, rewards, advantage, miles, points, club card) to certain stores/businesses ? No
Do you have a “frequency card” that counts number of same purchase, with rubber-stamp-marks or punch holes No
(example: buy 10 sandwiches or coffees, your next one is free) ? No
I view all of the above as gimmicks. I shop at different places, where the best price is found for a particular item. That's how I save money.

Sad true story: The other evening, I went down to our tiny little walk-up ice cream shop in our town. They have free live music, outdoor seating, and it's a small town gathering place. The lady in front of me in line asked me if I had one of those cards, where you get it punched each time you buy an ice cream cone. When you get it punched 12 times in 30 days, you get a free ice cream cone. That's no gift! Sorry to say, as nice as that lady was, she was tremendously overweight. No thanks.

Do you have a scannable/swipeable “smart” card for transportation (or parking pass), such as an E-Z pass or bus/subway rider card ? Yes, E-Z pass

Bonus:
While out, have you been to an eatery where refills (of drinks, whether hot or cold) were free (of charge) ? Yes, and also free buffets at the casino. "Free" is a double-edged sword. LOL

At home, do you more often consume liquids straight/direct from the container-
or do you pour beverages into a glass or cup first ? Cup

Just for Fun:
How many pairs/types of scissors do you use at home ? 3 regular type scissors

Thanks, cloven! Hope everyone has a great week!

Today’s Question:
Do you have a waffle iron ?
Yes, although it usually only gets used on Christmas morning.
Do you have a portable griller/sandwich maker ?
No
Extra Credit:
Do you have “loyalty cards” (discount, incentive, rewards, advantage, miles, points, club card) to certain stores/businesses ?
I only have one, and that's because the store actually gives them for free.
Do you have a “frequency card” that counts number of same purchase, with rubber-stamp-marks or punch holes
(example: buy 10 sandwiches or coffees, your next one is free) ?
No
Do you have a scannable/swipeable “smart” card for transportation (or parking pass), such as an E-Z pass or bus/subway rider card ?
I don't ride public transit enough to need a rider card. I don't have an EZ pass, but my neighbor said that he used to work at the airport and when they towed cars people never picked up, when they did inventory on them, they'd keep the EZ passes. The DOT would sell them for pennies on the dollar. When he was cleaning out his garage about 4 months ago, he found one in a box that still had over $100 in credit on it. He just had them send a new transponder (the one he found was dead) and he's good to go.
Bonus:
While out, have you been to an eatery where refills (of drinks, whether hot or cold) were free (of charge) ?
No
At home, do you more often consume liquids straight/direct from the container-
or do you pour beverages into a glass or cup first ?

Just for Fun:
How many pairs/types of scissors do you use at home ?
We go through scissors by the gazillions. There must be a black hole somewhere where they disappear to.

Do you have “loyalty cards” (discount, incentive, rewards, advantage, miles, points, club card) to certain stores/businesses ?Yes for our credit card. The airfare to Scotland was only $200 round trip for both of us.
Do you have a “frequency card” that counts number of same purchase, with rubber-stamp-marks or punch holes Yes one for roller skating, one for the drive in movie, and one for the Indian restaurant.
(example: buy 10 sandwiches or coffees, your next one is free) ?

No but I think we're going to have to break down and buy an IPass.
Bonus:
While out, have you been to an eatery where refills (of drinks, whether hot or cold) were free (of charge) ?Yes
At home, do you more often consume liquids straight/direct from the container-
or do you pour beverages into a glass or cup first ? If it's something small like milk or soda or vitamin water I will drink it directly from the bottle. I rarely finish it and sip it throughout the day. If it's something large that is for everyone else I will pour it in a glass.

Just for Fun:
How many pairs/types of scissors do you use at home ?
I have a really cool antique pair that looks like a stork and is my favorite. There must be another 10 or 12 pair including the suture removal kit I swiped from work to take out Joe Joe's sutures. It saved a vet visit and they're really good for cutting out small things.
