Mornin' all!

Posting a little early this morning. Didn't think you'd mind.

Onward!

Today's Question(s):
Do you have a talent that was passed down to you that is still part of your life now?

If so, what do you do?

If not, is there something you have taken up that you could/have pass on to others?

Bonus Question(s):
Where do you store:
canned foods?
tools?
bath towels?
shoes that aren't currently being worn?
extra blankets?

Just for Fun:
Do you have:
a bread box?
something medieval-looking?
a mantle clock?
a crock pot/slow cooker?
something plaid?
scented candles?

Today in History:
Arts/Entertainment: 1972 Rod Stewart's 1st #1 hit (You Wear it Well)
Birthday: 1948 Christa McAuliffe, U.S. astronaut, teacher (d. January 28, 1986)
Science/Technology: 1952 Dr. Floyd J Lewis 1st uses deep freeze technique in heart surgery
Sports: 2013 Swimmer Diana Nyad makes history, becoming the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage

Today’s Word: descry
Pronunciation: (di-SKRY)
Meaning: verb tr.:
1. To catch sight of.
2. To discover or detect.
Etymology: From Old French descrier (to cry out), from crier (to cry), from Latin critare, from quiritare (to cry out).
Earliest documented use: before 1400.
A shortening of the word descry resulted in scry.

Today is:
Bison-ten Yell Day
V-J Day

Quote of the Day:
"I told them how excited I would be to go into space and how thrilled I was when Alan Shepard made his historic flight, and when John Kennedy announced on the news that the men had landed safely on the moon, and how jealous I was of those men." ~ Christa McAuliffe ~

Have a good day everyone.

Morning PC and all.

I'm a few hours ahead of you so posting early isn't the same issue for me.

Today's Question(s):
Do you have a talent that was passed down to you that is still part of your life now?

Hmm... Dad taught me table tennis and that was a big part of my life, though not now.

I guess a thirst for knowledge, an inquisitive mind- that's what I was taught and what keeps me going.

If so, what do you do? My job requires learning a whole range of things associated with history.

If not, is there something you have taken up that you could/have pass on to others?

Not answering as you asked, but Miss J loves learning new things, especially languages.

Bonus Question(s):
Where do you store:
canned foods? Pull out larder units.
tools? Mainly in a special place in the garage.
bath towels? Mainly in a fitted wardrobe, though some in a chest of drawers in the guest room.
shoes that aren't currently being worn? Everywhere!
extra blankets? In units under a bed.

Just for Fun:
Do you have:
a bread box?
something medieval-looking? Me
a mantle clock? Only a small one
a crock pot/slow cooker?
something plaid?
scented candles?

That wasn't too painful! Thanks PC.

Today's Question(s):
Do you have a talent that was passed down to you that is still part of your life now?
Several of my relatives have musical talent and are amateur or professional musicians. I have loved and appreciated music all my life and probably would have become proficient on a musical instrument had the circumstances of my upbringing permitted it.

If so, what do you do?
I listen to music constantly and am especially fond of Classic Arts Showcase, the non-profit satellite service that plays short video clips from opera, symphony, dance and classic film 24 hours a day with no commercials.

If not, is there something you have taken up that you could/have pass on to others?
--

Bonus Question(s):
Where do you store:
canned foods?
Kitchen pantry, garage tools?
Garage. Miscellaneous small tools live in the desk or kitchen drawer. bath towels?
Bathroom shoes that aren't currently being worn?
Bedroom closet extra blankets?
Bedroom closet; hall closet; garage
Just for Fun:
Do you have:
a bread box? No
something medieval-looking? No
a mantle clock? No
a crock pot/slow cooker? A mini-sized crock pot
something plaid? Yes, flannel PJs, stadium blankets and scarves
scented candles? Yes

Thanks, PatsCats!
