For my husband: A book of "cheeses", deluxe meat-slicer, a 2-way base-radio, a box fill with miscellaneous small stuff - a book, bag of candy, Craftsman ratchet, label tapes for his label-maker, etc...

For my brother in another state: Two books and a gift card to a restaurant he likes.

To a friend: A gift card to a restaurant he likes.

Nothing. We do not do gifts at Christmas or Birthdays. We take our Grand Children where they want to go for the evening and spend time with them. If they do not want to go anywhere we stay home, order in and play video games or other games or whatever they want.

No gifts bought. We have the whole family over here for beef tenderloin, shrimp cocktail, cream of crab soup, and the fixings, topped off with my 6 lb. homemade cheesecake with cherries. That's our gift....getting everyone together to reminisce, laugh, and sip adult beverages, if they are of age. It was a beautiful evening earlier this week.

My remaining family (my son and my sister and her family) has devolved to sending money. Kinda sad, but easy. I like to remember the old days when my boy was little. Christmas was more fun then.

Nothing. I tick everybody off a week before Christmas and make up right after New Years.
Saves me a ton of money that way

Well, I would like to offer people *peace everlasting* as a present, but Another arranges that.
so
since the smallest presents are often the most meaningful, once again I gave nutritional SEEDS
precious seeds, & since they are Perennials, when they save their Harvested seeds, Nutrition-rich is perpetual
Too
this year again i gave some (particularly those w/ s.a.d.) a pot in which i planted 4 Spring-bulbs:
Snow-glory, Hyacinth, Narcissus & Tulip people soo appreciate these Cheerful surprises...
then again those not into gardening,
they received 30 packets of Herb-teas... Yummy on cold winter nights or anytime

so all told, for these 40 friends, total cost was but $40, not counting gas delivering them.

Actually to witness the big bright smiles on each face, is always... Best present for me.

Thank you for your curiosity.
As a *new* member learning lots new things, that old members most likely ignore, or complain about.
For example,
on the bottom of older threads the Forum message is: "Please UPdate this thread with any new info or opinions.
This thread is still read by thousands of people. So we encourage all additional points of view.
This thread will then be bumped to the top of the forum."

Since many current threads have 1000's of posts to wade thru, next I searched for discussions that (as you see) others as well find Interesting ...

Last edited by 2 rainbows; 01-15-2017 at 12:39 PM.. Reason: added the number "1000's"
