What the hell. I don't really get the anglais bias here.

One of the reasons I enjoy going to the lower 48 is listening to espanol and reading the signs in stores.

It's one of Western civilization's last links to latin, btw. Latin used to be a required part of a classical education.

My offspring is working on a linguistics degree that requires proficiency in five different languages. One thing I'm quite sure I'll never have to worry about is him knowing the phrase, "Do you want fries with that?" in any language.

Have you ever traveled in Asia? If you have you would realize that talking loud on cell phones is not confined only to folks from the western Hemisphere.
