One of the questions should have been why don't we delete more of our emails after being read? And how long do we keep them before we cleanup our email?
Why would I do that, I've got 2 junk rooms, a garage, and a storage shed full of stuff, why not have alot of email clutter as well.
I have 5 email addresses for diferent purposes, I don't keep any in my inbox,I trash about 90 percent everyday. The ones that I have. I have special places for stuff saved. Then once a month I would look them over again and trash them.
I have about 50 in my inbox. I check it everyday, but I leave things I might refer back to there for awhile (sales, schedules, things I need to reply to later)
My trash is programmed to empty itself every few days...
I love folders so I have all sorts of folders for stuff I want to save. One is marked reciepts for all my internet shopping I have become an ebay-aholic for clothes and shoes. Another is marked funny for all the joke I realy like.
I delete the stuff in the inbox when I read it or send it out or pay the bill.
I clean out the sent and deleted about twice a week. I don't like a bunch of junky mail around that I've already taken care of.
This drives my s/o crazy. If it were up to him, he'd never clean it out.
