Phew- another week has shot by and we're supposedly in spring!
We have done a bit of car swapping and selling, and are getting a new car this week.
I spent some time with the dealer and the salesman was really good- yes, I mean it.
After we did the deal I got to hear a riveting presentation from someone else on all the insurance products and so on that the company can offer. Oh, and they wanted to add on a special paint and interior protection as well! I asked if they'd seen Fargo (with William H Macy)- it was lost on them!
So, using that as my inspiration, the POTW focuses on all the 'add-ons' that a company tries to sell you when you go to buy something.
Yes whenever we buy an appliance they bombard you with extra warranties or add on and we politely decline. When we bought our latest car they sat us down for almost 45 minutes to sell us extra products, extreme expensive rust proofing among other things. Once we listened to her we politely said no thank and we could feel the lady was really annoyed and it seemed she was rushing us out of her office without a final handshake
Have a good week Jezer
Yes, back in December we too traded in and got a newer car. I must admit, we did get the rust proofing done due to where we live. They say it grants higher resale/trade-in value. I'm holdin' them to that!
Lovely pictures once again, Jez. Added to the bucket list recently is a pilgrimage to some place called Tilney. There's also a similar one called Bilney. Tilney and Bilney. In my genealogy research, that's as far back as I can trace my paternal line. Do these places even still exist?
I hate it when they keep telling me how low the monthly payment are,,,,, I just want to know the bottom line of the selling price off the lot today. I don’t want a thousand dollars’ worth of add-on options that the dealer put on the vehicle; undercoating, special paint, tinted windows, extra air in the tires, water in the radiator, etc etc etc…. What's the price out the door ,,,,,,,,,,,,, or I leave!

But wait- there's more (hidden options)!
The last several major purchases we have made have been pretty much hassle free, we politely say no thanks you while showing then the :hand:, repeat if necessary.
So what kind of new ride is the Jezer family getting?
We bought a new vehicle a few months ago, Ford SUV, fortunately we didn't have to go through all the extra BS that's usually offered. My son and another relative worked for FOMOCO and arranged a employee discount deal with no strings attached.
Again beautiful pictures Jezer.
